Hello, I would say this is SAP, its a cold water fungus, What I have done is the following, if possible raise the water temp, but if not, do the following Catch him! And use an anastetic to put him to sleep, then when he is OUT , with a BABIES tooth brush( there soft) dip the brush in hydrogen peroxide and SOFTLY brush the fungus repetedly, you may see some VERY slight bleeding from this CLEANING and you will not remove this SPONGY fungus totaly, thats ok, then after this I use a small paint brush ( small) and I dip this in Iodine and paint this over the areas I cleaned! You have to work fast as the anastetic only last a few minuts. I would not do this WITHOUT anastetics, because the koi will fight, this will cause stress and it just wont work! I have done this on my koi with no problem. I can give you more details about doses for the anastetics ect! this is real simple to get rid of, and even when the koi have this, they seem fine, they normal ect. So let me know for more info!
