Expiry Dte for Hikari Fish Pellets Can't Post

Hi everybody,

Do fish pellets, specifically the Hikari have an Expiry Date ?

I can't seem to find this date on the outside packing. Where else to find or do we follow a standard ruling, ie 6 months, or 1 year, etc ?

I have a few packets of Hikari products with me and I wouldn't want them to go bad before I could feed them to my koi's.

Thank you .........

Yes they do. Usually at the back of each packet or bag. I seem that if the pellets dont go bad (rot) then it should be ok. If my koi still eat it then its ok.

Hi Roxanne,

There's no expiry date on the packing of my Hikari Hi-Growth, Excel or Saki either... only a "Best before" date to indicate freshness. I would suggest only buying koi food you can finish before the "Best before" date.

Rgds,

Hello dechoong,

I know most(or all) Hikari food comes with the best b4 date, but I'm wondering, if there is no best b4 date, how long can we assume that it will be 'best b4'?

TQ.

Hi,

I wouldn't reccomend buying koi food that's more than 2 years after the manufacturing date Smile.

Cheers,
Dennis

as long as it don't get wet or anything like that i think it fine, back than when i was still at my old house i usually put the food out side and when rain come it kind of get wet and i just don't want to wasted my money so i feed them to my feeder gold fish they developed fungus and die from it Pirate if it get wet feed them it right away a few day latter used i think it gona harm your fishes that why they told u to pickup the left over if ya fish didn't eat them anymore after feeding time
