Feeding variations with temperature Can't Post

Hi all,

I'm new to Koi keeping. I've heard that the proper amount to feed Koi vaires with temperature, because their ability to digest food varies with temperature. Does anyone have some guidelines to follow on this matter? Perhaps a list of proper feeding amounts for different temperature ranges.

I live near the ocean and have a fairly constant pond temperature, between 60-70 degrees F. Also, I'd like to feed them as much as possible to make them big and strong (as every Koi lover does) but of course I don't want to make them sick.

A little help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
~Sean

The best way to feed koi is little and often, just not to often. Feed a good varied diet use several brands of food, use brown bread lettuse prawns frozen brinshrimp blood worms daphnia mosquitoe lava ect. dig up earth worms.

but make sure you don't give them to much, koi are messy eaters and alot of it will just mess up the water.

If you have a large pond you will find they grow faster anyway. As alot of insects will just fall in and the fish have room to grow. So large volumes of water low levels of fish and a good varied diet.

wheet germ foods are good all year around but at the cooler times you need to feed less protein foods.
