HELP!! Will the koi die? Can't Post

HELP~!!! This morning I help my dad to feed his kois..but i mistaken the flower fertilizer as the fish food. I grab 2 handful of the fertilizer and put in the pond. I know it when the fertilizer is not floating. Then I feed 2 handful of the fish food (green and red color) after that. Frown

I have no idea what to do..can the fertilizer kills the kois? we also have 1 bandaraya fish in the pond.

please tell me what to do..my dad loves his kois...i dunwan to upsat him when he return from holiday...PLEASE HELP....

hi there..

nothing much u can do.. just hope the koi dont eat the fertilizer.. use a net to scoop up the fertilizer if possible..

dilute ur pond water b4 its too late

hi...

is not possible to scoop up the fertilizer cos the size is small and hardly can be seen under the pond. Frown

can i use tap water to dilute the pond? and can it hold till this evening? cos i'm now at work..thou can't really work with guilts and worries...Frown

please advise.

do use whatever water source you have to dilute the pond immediately..put alot of salt enough to cause deactivation to the fertilzer then put lots of charcoal in your pond or filter box...

u mean salt? will they die if too salty? charcoal will not harm them?

Hi Emily,

The fertilizer would have been dissolved by now. Follow the procedure.

1. Discharge 50% of the pond water.
2. Fill it back up with tap water... remember to use anti-chlorine or a tap water conditioner
3. Use at least 3kg of Activated Carbon per ton of pond water to absorb the chemicals from the fertilizer. Place the activated carbon in the last filter chamber. Do not use charcoal.
