How to bring the Sumi out? Can't Post
To bring out or enhance the Hi of a koi, you can feed it with colour enhancer e.g. spirulina (spell ???) How about Sumi? Is there any food that serve this purpose?

Tony, pH plays a role in enhancing Hi or Sumi. Lower pH enhances Hi whereas higher pH enhances Sumi. Smile

as what i have read, make your water hard as possible to develop the sumi.

Henry, yes, as hard water is usually associated with higher pH. More important is prevent pH fluctuations. Smile

Tony, nope, I don't think there's any food suppliment out there that would help develope the Sumi. Smile

Hi---- means the red color in your koi, and the sumi------- means the black color in your koi.Wink
Shiro------ means white in the koi.

You came to the right place and dttk is one of the best on the forum. I have learned a great deal from reading his post and him replying to my post. Anyways you can beat the best.Wink Aslo a very nice guy and will alway be most helpful, not to say other are not , he just seams to be the nicest guy on the forum and I just love him.Smile
