How to feed the ideal amount of food Can't Post

Total weight of my kois in my pond is approximately 35kgs (17 kois). A chart in a book shows that ideal feeding will be around 1kg a day which is around 3%. But its difficult to feed them even 500g a day if i follow the 5-10 minute rule.

Currently, i'm giving 30-50g per feed (6-8 times a day). It usually takes them around 20 minutes to finish, sometimes more.

Can anyone help me to achieve the ideal feeding rate, without compromising the water quality? I don't want to deviate too much from the 5-10 minute rule since i believe that going over that will pollute the water badly.

Hey, I'm in the same situation as your's.

when I feed at the amount of 3% of body weight, I feel it's overfeeding. I do feed them about 1% of body weight. I just feed based on my personal judgement of what should be enough for them... Unimpressed.
