SAKAI KOI FOOD Can't Post

Hi! Everyone.

Would you look at the ingredients when you buy a Koi Food?

Now, I couldn't find the ingredients table on the packet of SAKAI Food.

Anyone have any idea what ingredients SAKAI food have? Or Where to find this piece of info?

Thanks.
Tan Lee King - Cheers.

Hi, Koi@kit:
I'm referring to the wheatgerms as well as the color enhancer. Both packings do not have ingredient contents. Both packed at 4Kg per pack.
Why is there a difference in weight per pack?Crazy Is there a imitation in the market?Shocked

The only ingredients listings I can find are Wheatgerm, Spirulina, Zeaxanthin (in the color enhancing blends), and "proprietoay Hikari Germ". "Proprietary" = top secretMadMad so even if I knew (and I don'tTongue) I couldn't tell you, because then I'd have to kill youShocked to keep it a secretUnsure.
Just as Barley Balls (or straw for that matter) contain an enzyme which promotes good bacteria growth in your biofilter, Hikari Germ is apparetly a grain blend which is a digestive bacterial enzyme enhancer. Proper bacteria is essential to any digestive system (including yours and mine) so I am sure it would be even more important for a fish without a stomachTongue.
Physicians and Veterinarians refer to these bacteria (which live in our saliva and our stomachsCrazy) as "Flora".

The one I refer to is "Sakai Hikari" (marketed as Saki & Sakai). Which is sold in 2 & 15 kg pgs, in 4 blends. Basic, Growth, Colour, and Multi-Season. This isn't the website where I originally got my info, but if you scroll half way down the page it is there. I assumed it was the same one you were discussing.

I understand there is also a Hiroshima Sakai brand, but I have no specific info on it.

Re: [larz1] SAKAI KOI FOOD [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi! Mr. Larzl, Thank you very much for your effort in directing us to the link notwithstanding we are refering to SAKAI Food manufactured by SAKAI Farm (Co).

I'm surprised that Saki Hikari has become Sakai Hikari. Perhaps there is a overlooking in translating it from Japanese to English. However, I'm able to judge it from the packing that the packing shown in the link is Saki, NOT Sakai. To the best of my understanding, there is a ingredient contents in Saki food.

Packing for Sakai food is a silverish shining color embolded with words "SAKAI BLEND HIGH QUALITY NISHIKIKOI FOOD" with the fishfarm name "Sakai Fish Farm (Co)" plus a robus Logo next to it. The only thing lacking in the packing is the ingredient.

Could it be a TRADE SECRET?

Tan Lee King - Cheers.

Re: [Tan Lee King] SAKAI KOI FOOD [In reply to] Can't Post

"Trade Secret" is probably it.
I finally found the original link I got my information from.
http://www.aqualifeuk.com/SUBcategory.php?categoryKey=2205&side=koi&subCategoryKey=2214&subCategoryName=Hikari%20Sakai
It only shows "Sakai Hikari" in the product description and it was only when I found the link I posted previously that I saw the word "Saki". (now THAT would make an unusual ingredient wouldn't itCrazyTongue)
Could it be that Hikari markets with different labeling in different parts of the world?
I think I found the one you refer to, but as you say, no information on ingredients. Is this it?
