Dai Lo Jarvis...

It really depends on the situation...if the owner only threw the food in then take pic...then it should be ok IMHO...but if the food has been there for a while, then obviously its overfeeding :P

You should see my tank when i feed Bloodworms...the tank is full of it :P But after 30secs...then no more..so i guess not overfeeding.

Cheers

Sai lo Mango...

Thank you...hehehe, it really shocked me at first...so much food for such small fish!!!Laugh

I think I looks freshly thrown in, so it might not be overfeeding....Sly

Yep seems like a large waiste.

If they don't eat it you gotta remove it otherwise it just polutes the water increasing fungus and bacteria not to mention the extra work for the filters.

All that food would last my fish a week.

Dear s_clan

I think it's a personal choice. Little and often i say. But if they don't eat it in 10 to 15 minutes i take it out.

I also get quite alot of live food from a dealer with a clean place, (clean as in no contact with fish) as most virus and parasites cant survive without a host for more than 14 days.

Every month i get fresh water shrimp (glass shrimps) 1000 for £50 and daphnia and bloodworm every 14 days.

I figure if the fish don't find them and eat them all they won't pollute the water..

Jarvis,

When you feed your koi they should finished it within 5mins to 10mins max. If some food still floating after that scope them out, it also means they having too much. Don't keep chucking food when they ate the pellets under 10mins. Spread your feeding time say 3 times a day. I feed mine 6 to 8 imes per day on summer months total of 250g of pellets feed per daySmile

Jon
