Thanks for your reply. Yes, bloodline is important indeed. Regarding soft water, I heard hard water helps development of sumi, and now you say soft water is good for shiroji...well, then its a challenge to keep shiro!
i have heard of hard water good for sumi as well.. but from my own experience with soft water is snow white skin and solid sumi.. but... weak hi.. some said due to fast growing koi, some said i shud include colour food in my koi's diet..
i have no worry abt sumi, shiroji or hi.. i m more concern if the koi dont grow .. as all of my koi are nissai to yonsai.. i heard as they grow older their growth rate slow down n skin quality improve, lets just wait n see..
