Will Koi eat cicaks or lizards? Can't Post
Anyone tried feeding Kois lizards or cicaks? Any harmful side effect? There are lots around.

You are right about the bones. Can't help wondering -- used to use them as bait for fishing a long time ago. My neighbor used to feed them to tomans.

They are house lizards (or geckos in other parts of the world), a very familiar sight in South East Asia. Quite soft, except maybe the skull. Adults about 3-4 inches long with a tail that detaches to distract predators.

There are lots of them around, and can be easily caught with a water gun. Wet them, and they fall off the ceiling in droves. Just curious as they are a good source of protein.

hi CD,

My dad used to use a rubber band(the strong grey one) to shoot at the lizard. Ofcourse you need good accuracy for doing that Tongue. Nevertheless, my koi ate them, they enjoy it Smile..

Make sure you koi is big enough from it to eat..

Neh, it will be hurt for a while, it wont run much but the tail will pop out Tongue.

what did these poor lizards do to you ???

apart from keeping down the bug population.

what are cicak ???

Koi are omnivours i spose if the lizard fit's into the koi's mouth it will proberley get a nasty suck.

do they float or sink ???

it's just nasty i recon you should get the bugs the lizard would eat and feed them critters to you fish .... or arethey to hard to catch ???

I'm sorry if you are a lizard lover instead of bugs, and this thread offended you Frown. At least we have one thing in common -- we love koisSmileSmile

These lizards (or gekkos or cicaks) are often used as fishing bait in our part of the world. They are common pests, a bit like those "cute" rabbits Down Under.
