Hi everone I need to know if you boil shrimp before you feed or if you feed raw. Also do you give them the shells and if you do do you blend them in fine pieces. I have some fry and I understand this will bring out their color and tame them also.

Hi,
From what I read from the forum, they feed them boiled shrimp without the head and shells because it might not be digested by the fry and it may cut its mouth. I would boil then mince them in tiny pieces to be eaten by the small guys.

Hi,
Those wonderful pictures of koi are from kgt1223.
However, I am new to raising fingerlings but just 4 days ago, they ate out of my hand as well.
It is so neat to see, basically I feed them at the same spot every day and then I put all my fingers halfway into the water, cupping my hand. They see this and then all come up and nibble on fingers. Then with my other hand, I put pellets into my open hand and they eat it without fear!

So cool!Smile

Hi,
Here are some pictures of the fingerlings I put in my main pond. There are about 27 of them in there and the bigger fish have not eaten themCoolCoolCool

If it is hard to see, I apologize, the pond is by a pine tree and there are reflections.

Bah, glare. I hate glare. If you can, invest in a one of those... polaroid filters for your camera that help eliminate it. Also, try taking the pictures when it starts getting dark.

Anyhow, those are cute lil fish! Im glad to hear they havent been eaten!
