My koi LOVE honeynut cherio's Tongue I can handfeed all of my koi with these. Patience is the key tho. You could also try oranges cut in half, lettuce or prawns.

Cut an orange and half and peel a little bit of the peel off so they can get grab the inside of the orange. I tie a rope on mine so they dont float into the filter. My gold ogon demolishes it mostly its gone in less than an hour. They love it.

How true is it that tadpoles are healthy for koi?

I year ago when I had a lot of koi, about 21 of 'em at my hometown, those tadpoles almost cut my koi's population in half...I think tadpoles are poisonous for koi...

Frogs have glands in the skin which makes them taste bad and they aren't the healthiest thing for your fish to eat a large tadpole can have these glands also I believe.

well ive been giving my kois KIWI GOLDCool! i sliced it into pieces then i put it in a small plastic container (take away container). and finally put it in the pond. let it sink down! after 2 - 3 hours the container will floating.which mean all the kiwis been eaten! and dont forget to check it make sure all the scraps are taken out! in which the white stock of the kiwis they wont eat it!Blush heheheLaughLaugh

they loved tomatoes as well! its not gonna sink down so u know when its finished! slice it put it into ur pond wait until a few hours then the kois will eat it. better to peel the skin off! but then its hard to pick up the scrap if u pelled the tomato skinLaugh

I feed my koi's as treats - peeled cooked prawns, mussels, squid (all cooked) - also oranges cut into wedges which the koi's fight over - also fresh bell pepper(usually red) which i cut small and peel! They love these!
