Hi Piers,

Can hand feed no problem, and pond is also ground level, a lot of people say its harder to get the koi to hand feed on ground level ponds, but I never had any problems, practically hand fed straight away....

I want to hand feed but dont because of preditors .. I am afaird if I start they will become very tame and be easy pickens for heron or cats or any other four legged varmet that deciedes to have koi for sup.

i can see your point, i find it good because if my fish dont hand feed its probally a way of telling they are unwell so , its never happened but i think it may help, but my fish are tame the come up to you if you stand by the edge so its easy for predarots but i dont have problems with them at the moment!
