hi everyone,
I'm new to koi, have a pond 14ft x 7 ft x 4 ft with a elevated portion, total water volume about 10 tons. filter size is a mere 20% of the total pond volume. have 12 resident in there 3 40+ inches, 5 30+ inches and 4 20+ inches.
everything was fine till i decided to swop the UV from the first chamber to the last chamber which was the pump chamber, flushes out all the water in the filter chamber and have it thoroughtly clean up using the water from the main pond, washes all the media and leaving certain media out in the a shelter dry area for aprox. 11/2hrs. how bad does it affect the water condition, it turning greener day by day.
have since add bacteria powder and reduce feeding to once a day..
