While doing research to build my pond I often read, "I wish I had built it Bigger." I have never read, "I wish I had made mine smaller." Therefore, an orignal design of about 4' by 6' by 2' deep grew to 15' by 15' with most of it 3.5' deep and a 6' by 4' section 6' deep with a 25' stream and a 3' waterfall. After five years I'm still not finished with the construction and landscaping but I love my pond for the relaxation it provides.

actually, the number 1 wish i have is "I wish i had lots and lots of money" that way, i wouldnt scrimp on my koi equipment.

i spend more time building/fixing stuff for the koi pond than actually looking at the koi.

Me too. I wish I got into the pond hobby when I was working. I have been out of a job for 1 and 1/2 years here in CA. If I had come across it sooner, I would have saved up and bought primo filtration equipment and such. Now, I too am buying used equipment or making diy things, like my diy waterfalls using half barrel liners.
