Kit,

One thing after hearing this particular bloodline or more like bred by Sakai farm from Koimann, they do have a reputation for breeding jumbo koi tooWink...all a while, i thought it was just Momotaro!!! but looks like im wrong!!Crazy..that's the beauty about this forum, we get to learn alot from one another experience, especially from the old timer!!Wink

From the pic, this Koi has beautiful color (hi and shiroji) for such a young tender age....body comformation is long, stong and grithy...Wink..strong tail tube..it just the combination of the body shape & and length, size, skin quality, color & pattern makes this Koi 'Beautiful'..
Cheers

Cifu Nelson,
I think the biggest koi from tosai to gosai(1 to 5 yrs)Momotaro still hold the records. But nevertheless some of Sakai's kois are also very big and especially 5years up.Here a pic of a Sansai kohaku from Sakai.Shes already 67cm and judging by the pic,she will put even more girth by 4 years old if kept properly.Shes an offspring of Nozomi..AWESOME!Wink

cifu nelson..

from wat i heard recently, koi over 80cm is consider jumbo..koi farm like momotaro, dainichi, maruyama, matsunosuke, sakai (just to name a few) all have koi more than 80cm..

as master cifu koimann said.. momotaro still hold the record of fast growing koi.. ( 1yr to 5yr ).. other farm will need more time to grow their koi over 80cm..Wink
