Re: [koi@kit] CHINA MADE AIR PUMP (RESUN) [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Kit,

I have bought a China made Resun ( 60 ) air pump just over the weekend for RM 200-00 and
the dealer has given me a 6 months warranty for the product.
I already have it running for the past few days and so far so good. Am also wondering whether
it will last as long as my other Hi-Blow 80 air pump from Japan, but then again that air pump
unit cost me RM 800-00.

Best Regards,

Yo Cifu Kit,
ThiamHwa said it all.A HiBlow 80 cost RM880 and a Resun 60 RM200.So even if it doesn't last you for long, you still will be able to buy 3 more to use.WinkAnd if I'm buying it,I will be happy if it lasts me 2 years. Then I can have 8 years with RM880.Sly

Hi guys,

I got my 1st blower Resun180 and it works well, but since i've installed a 4 meter airline diffuser i needed more POWER, so i got the Resun260. Works wonders!! Both pumps are below the 150 mark..... So i'd say it serves it purpose..Smile

Re: [koi@kit] CHINA MADE AIR PUMP (RESUN) [In reply to] Can't Post

Cifu Kit,

I see you've done your homework well.WinkTongue. Yes, the blower does makes a bit of noise, but if you place it in an area where the frequency can be dampened, you wouldn't notice much of it. Then again the noise doesn't bother me. Presently i am only using the Resun260 blower on its own, although i thought of using it together, but decided not to as there me back presseure to the blower. The picture i posted, that was using the 180. So i have 1 unused. Could use it for filter system aerator next time or emergency cases.Smile

Re: [koi@kit] CHINA MADE AIR PUMP (RESUN) [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Kit,

The Resun air pump which I bought is Model LP-60 ( Low-noise air pump ). You can
log into their website : www.resun-china.com for all their range of products.

I have my current Hi-blow 80 supplying to 2 nos. of Uni-rings into my pond and
the Resun LP-60 which has 14 nos. of air outlets connected to air stones and all
placed in the filtration chambers. I think the air supply from the Resun unit is just as
good and it is not fair to make comparisons between the two units becos' both are
of different output and pressure.

As Koimann pointed out, you could either have 4 units of Resuns or only 1 unit of Hi-blow.
The choice is yours hehehehehh!

Hi Kit,

When you log onto Resun website, also check out their chillers system in their product catalogue. This might be of interest to you as well. I am not an M & E engineer and so
cannot make out what has been written on their specifications.

Hi Kit,

From my observation over the past few days, the shoroji on a few of my kois has improve greatly.
I am not sure whether it is to do with the additional aeration in the pond & filter chambers or the added Vege-filter
or the Vitamin C,E and Lacto Probac which I have been feeding to the kois lately.

Nevertheless, I am very pleased with their results so far. I am sure that all the above additions to the system
has played a part in one way or another.

Cheerio,

Thiamhwa.
Pumps
I have 2 types of Japanese airpumps. For the same rating ie: 100 watts; 1 brand is very silent but the air-output pressure is not as strong. The other brand has bigger air output but very noisy. But as always, the air stone and or uniring will clog up by algae and this severly compromise their performance. Basically the designs are the same. Probably the difference may be in the quality of the material used. eg the diaphram , the transfomer etc.. And you do pay more for the brand Crazy So pls keep us in the loop rgd Resun's durability.

Koi diet: Wow, you are really giving your kois the works. Your enthusiasm is much appreciated. As for your Shiroji, I was told that Vitamin C does the trick.

Entering any of your kois for the show? I have entered RM 300 male kois and they have won before, so give it a try.Wink

Hi Hwong,

Thank you for sharing your views regarding your Japanese made air pumps.
I will certainly keep you posted regarding the Resun air pump durability.

As for the Koi's diet, I am just trying various kind of foods which are recommended
by either koi's dealers or hobbyists. Since I am still new in the hobby and my kois
are from the lower grade with lousy body conformation, I am now experimenting whether
to what extent can cheap kois quality be improved by providing good water parameters,
more aeration to the pond and filtration chambers plus suitable foods for the kois.
If I can achieved a good results say in the next few months, then maybe I will be more confident with purchasing higher grade kois in future, hahahahah!
BTW, I have already signed up for the seminar held at Cheras Aquarium and the 2nd.
pond visit held on 30th.April. Have to learn from all the Sifus first before even thinking
of entering any of my kois for the Show. Hopefully in about 3 years from now when I
have mastered the Art of Koi Keeping in a small size pond plus having higher grade kois.

Best Regards,
ThiamHwa

Hi Sunshine,

It is good to hear from you. Did you manage to purchase any kois while you are here in KL?
I have not tried what Cifu Vincent has taught us yet becos' I do not have the patient to wait for the mixture of Vitamins, pellets and egg to dry up first before feeding them to the kois. Instead, I just mix the Vitamins, Lacto Probac powder together with Izeki paste food for feeding. I guess it did not matter at all whether one uses pellets or paste food.
Having spend the $$$ I assume the skin quality of the kois must have improve lah heheheh!
It makes one feel good that the $$$ has been well spend!

Best Regards,
ThiamHwa

read with interest, the Resun 180 air filter that u are using

would u recommend to use it.
air output specifications highlight 75 litres a minute for model LP 60,
u mentioned model resun 260, what is the specs for this?
and would u recommend it for 4 air airstone outlet for depth 1.5m.?

Re: [peterk] CHINA MADE AIR PUMP (RESUN) [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi peterk,
with regards to the Resun GF-180 blower, it all depends on how large your airstones are and what current effect you'd be expecting from the air bubbles produced. Since i was using the blower for a 4 meter airline diffuser, it served it's purpose but with lesser current effect. With the GF-280 (sorry, not 260) Winkthe current effect produced was more to my liking as the water is circulating at a faster pace. Back to your Q, it shouldn't be a problem though then if the blower was used for the 4 air stones.

Some Specs

GF-280

VOLT:220V
FREQ:50HZ
POWER:280W
CAP:1.10L/min
PRESSURE:0.130MPa
SIZE:200x230x235mm
WT:10kg

GF-180

VOLT:220V
FREQ:50HZ
POWER:180W
CAP:0.90L/min
PRESSURE:0.120MPa
SIZE:200x230x225mm
WT:7kg

LP-60

VOLT:100~120/220~240V
FREQ:50/60HZ
POWER:50W
EXHAUST:75L/min
PRESSURE:0.039MPa
FIT FOR WATER DEPTH MAX:3.5M
AIR DIVIDER OUTLETS:14

Hope that helps out a bit...

Re: [kemeer] CHINA MADE AIR PUMP (RESUN) [In reply to] Can't Post

Amirol

wow such a huge air pump, how much did u pay for this and from where ???

Actually i was looking at LP100 after reading this article in this forum, I didn't know Resun has large air blower.
My intention was for Hi-blow or Medo but found that there are pretty expensive at least S$300 for a low even model LB40, looks that Resun is value for money since I have seen their product in small air pumps and water pump for aquarium tanks.

But hows the noise compare to HI blow or Medo. Are these reliable ?? How long have u used them.

I am using for a 12mt pond 1.5meters depth for filter compartment x3 and pond air stone x2, would LP 60 be adequate ??? Cannot fing LP100 in Singapore, any contacts ?

Out of curiosity, what is your pond size. It seems u need such high capacity air pump over 4 times LP 60 capacity..

How is the performance of your pump so far??

Re: [peterk] CHINA MADE AIR PUMP (RESUN) [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi peterk,

Its hard for me to comment on its reliability as i have just recently purchased, but so far no complaints.Smile As for the noise for the blower, you can expect a significant high pitching sound coming from these blowers as most blowers do produce them. As i understand it the LP-100 (LP series) are more silent then the blowers but will try to check it out for you these few days. Price wise, i got the blower somewhere below the 150 mark (of course on a discount). An if if i'm not mistaken you can expect the LP-100 to be somwhere below 200.
Am not sure where you can get these models in Singapore, but if your seriously looking into getting one, i can always bring get one for you and bring it with me this 25th when i'm there... Just PM me if your interested...

As for my pond specs, the dimensions are 1m x 8.5m x 1 m = roughhly about 3 tons (i think)

Re: [kemeer] CHINA MADE AIR PUMP (RESUN) [In reply to] Can't Post

wow....

3 tons pond and you are using air pump 3 times the capacity i am look for. my pond is about 14tons plus 6tons filter, all in all 20tons.

Have i made a mistake in air capacity planning.??

I am a new pond keeper NEWBEE, as a matter of fact my first pond is now under construction- pond 6m x 1.7m x 1.5m and a 4 compartment filter of 1m x 1m x 1.5m each. I was thinking of running a pvc pipe (15mm) with 5 air outlets connected to airstone (3 in filter area and 2 in pond). looks as though LP 60 is under-capacity.

Any recomendation ??
Sorry is i am troubling u...

Are u in touch with the other people in singapore GCspyder, Johnteo, APBlW, WSTANk etc , met them couple of times recently in the Grow Out event at MAX koi

Re: [peterk] CHINA MADE AIR PUMP (RESUN) [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi peterk,

Perhaps this question can be answered more thoroughly by some of the other cifus in this forum as i too am a newbee in this hobby. Cifu Kit, GCSpyder, Koi38 are among a few whom can perhaps comment on your setup. As from my past experience w/ equipments in this hobby, i'd probably recommend you to go for a larger airpump as it never hurts to pump in more O2 into the water/filter. As what i understand, the more the dissolved oxygen content there is in the water the better condition your water will be. Another reason why i used a higher spec airpump is due to my current pond set-up, as it does not have a venturi system to circulate the water.
