hi Dr.Kolam,

Being a sucker for pattern. I think the head would look better w/ more shiroji on the head, particularly the around the nose area.Laugh Aside from that its pretty much hard to judge the skin quality from the photo because of the unclear water.Unsure There seems t be a bit of sashi around the shoulder area. Body looks good though and tail seems thick, I just wonder if it has the height???

just my 2cents worthBlush

Hey Kemeer......

Pattern to me is not that important. The most important thing is how to take good care of the fish.
Its a Murakami Kohaku Female....

Hi DR,

Sorry, i don't post photos in the forum unless i am looking at letting them go. At the moment i don't have many kois anymore, and i can't be bothered to catch them to take fotos, might affect their development. Every other day i dump in 2-3 cups of Onitaji just to make sure the water is ok and to help the kois develop good skin. If you want i can sell that to you REAL CHEAP.Tongue

Kois in Singapore??? Never kept any there...Cool But if you refering to the Murakami GO happening there, i might participate just for learning purpose. Think you should join also, as it will be eye opening experience in how to select tosais and how "hi" develops.

Hi Kemeer...

Wow very impresiveSly, your using onitaji.. Your fish must be in excelent condition... So telling how much can you sell me? because i'm planning to use that product.
So far i can't find it here in brunei. Btw whats the differents between onitaji and refresh powder? The reson i'm asking is because i've never use this product before so in other
words i have no experience in this matter... and also if you don't mind, can you tell me what koi food are you using because i've been using hikari and instead of growing
a body mass my koi has a huge belly.

Thanking you in advance....Smile

Re: [Dr.Kolam] Hello Everybody... [In reply to] Can't Post

Huh??!!! hahah.... Cool

Sorry, my post got lost when downloading the photos. Anyways, to answer your question, i don't see any difference between Refresh (be it solid or powder form), and Onitaji powder. Both products contain the same main component that is Montromolonite Clay (Purest Clay).Unimpressed

If you plan to use it, there aremany vendors here in Brunei that stock them. Those i know of are, Koi@kit, Biocare, and BioTropical, and maybe Petlink (if my eyes don't deceive me)... HahahLaugh Some maybe selling under different brand, but still serves/produce the same results. Would love to share some of my stocks, but am running out of it w/ the rate i'm going dumping the amount every other day. So, need to order more soon. Hahaha.... Ask around you may be lucky to get them cheaper elsewhere.

For feeding, currently, i am experimenting with FD food as i hear it has Fantastic results w/ koi growth. Albit costly but worth trying. So no worries there..... Besides that i normally, mix my feeding regime w/ Hikari Hi-Growth, HiSilk21, Momotaro food, Paste Food, Sakai, and etc...... Most have proven its worth, so again no worries......

Since you said said ure koi hunting, why not ask around some of the members here whether they planning to cull some of their collections. The thing bout Brunei and this hobby is, one tends to improve his/her knowledge at a dramatic rate that sometimes, their koi collection become "irrelevant" and when that happens the market for second hand koi exists. That's why it is best to know what you want early, be it pattern or growth potential, once you've decided on a path, you won't regret the earlier choices made when buying a koi.Tongue Wah!! Macam Doctor sudah Ni!!! hahahaha

Anyways, here is a koi that i am currently considering. It is from Dainichi, female, 53cm 4mths ago and now have grown to 58+cm. Some may say its slow interms of growing but i personally think it is best to groom/grow them slow, while maintaining/if not improving its skin condition, rather then having a jumbo sized koi w/ poor Skin quality (Lustre, Stretched Hi). What do you think Dr, would you agree w/ the testament??Sly

Hi Dr kolam..

i cant help myself but to interrupt ur conversation with cifu kemeer here..

well, theres diffrent btw onitaiji and refresh. from my experience, onitaiji clear ur water (unless u use the X brand onitaiji aka onikanjiSly) by simply springkle on ur pond.. refresh will hv to mix in bucket of water and pour into pond, it dont clear ur water (well, it take longer time to clear the water, 1 day or so)..

theres one time when me and sunshinekoi were treating a batch of almost dying koi, after adding the onitaiji the koi swim normal after abt 10 min.. (ask sunshineSlyLaugh).. even our super pond (Kapokoi).. he use lots of them, water and koi improves.. well as i said, unless u r using onikanji, the effect of onitaiji is 'fantastic'..

refresh was made b4 onitaiji, onitaiji CUD be the improved version of 'refresh'..Unimpressed.. with onitaiji i hv grown koi from 18cm to 80cm (my sanke)... what u gonna say Dr..

hi Dr.
Just to add on to what kit said in term of treatment, it varies from one condition to another. The condition was right for applying onitaji at what kit mentioned and so will be ok. Do not try to treat koi with onitaji at all problem if you are not sure. Piece of advise.

Hey kit,

I did'nt know keemer is a cifu in koi. I'm speechless cos i did'nt know there's alot of cifu here in brunei that can be rely on. I need to ask you this question kit,
i heard from one of the shop in brunei and when i ask them from which farm is this koi there ans and say the koi that there are selling is from a "SECRET KOI FARM"PirateCrazyPirate.
Is there any such thing? cos as far as i know there is no such thing. The reason i'm asking is cos i really want to get a quality koi and not the koi that is very expensive but has no future if you get what i mean.

I'm very crazy bout koi and i hope you could teach me bout this matter, because what i heard was you supply very good and high quality koi.
Most of the koi's i see is Faded in colour and has no structure at all....

Hi Dr..

SECRET koi farm?? theres no such farm, never heard of them.FrownFrown..

May b u get me wrong, i dont sell koi. i m a hobbyist like urself, i can only spare u some good koi if the price is ok.

may b u shud try to order koi from overseas just like lots of member, it easy to do. all u need is to get entry permit from fishery dept. u also need to get a handler at RBA cargo, and lastly u need to pay for the freight charges. soo my advice is, theres no point buying a $100 koi and hv to pay $300 for all the charges..Pirate
