ĦiThe effect of a bacteria houseĦj
Patent acquisition

A bacteria house makes many bacteria which clean water live, and maintains water freshly.
A bacteria house has many holes far compared with the conventional filtration, and the adhesion area of the feature of bacteria is large.
Therefore, many bacteria adhere.
New Bacteria House

The material is same as old tipe but new one has Hole at center of the Bacteria House that make more Surface area! Moreover, since a large number a big hole, water permeates to an inside and raises sufficient filtration effect.

Adhesion of bacteria appears clearly in about about three weeks after installation of a bacteria house, and an effect shows up.
In the hole of the size of a bacteria house, and a static electricity-action, floating matter is caught effectively and they are decomposed promptly. The transparency of water rises in a bacteria house.

Re: [koi@kit] MOMOTARO BACTERIA HOUSE [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Kit,
I happens to bump into Roger Moo, TanSL & Chris at Kepong Koi today. They were hunting for kois from the new batch of arrivals on the 12/1/06 from Momotaro's Farm. There were many kois sizes between 20 cm to 30 cm and pricing from RM1,500 to RM 6,000. I was told by Roger that he now has about 40 kois ( not 30 ) in his 10 tons pond at the moment and it seems like more will be added on to the pond yet again.
I have also seem Koimann's Sanke in Vincent's 150 tons chilled pond. It is indeed a very nice
looking Sanke with good body shape and outstanding shiroji. The beni on the kois seems to look quite similar to the Sanke that you have posted. I was wondering whether that Sanke could well be from the same Momotaro bloodline?

ThiamHwa

Re: [koi@kit] MOMOTARO BACTERIA HOUSE [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Kit,
KL has only a few local koi's dealers and it is very easy to bump into one another especially during weekends. I did not purchase any koi from Vincent because as it is, my pond is already over stock.
Yes, Vincent has many expensive kois which are kept in his bigger ponds, but as usual, hobbyists are attracted to the new batch of arrivals which are more affordable. Besides, it is also challenging to try and spot one which hopefully will turn out to be a prized winner's one day.
As one would have expected from Momotaro's Farm, majority of the kois has very good body conformation which most likely will grow big in future. As for the colours and patterns, it is probably too early to give an opinion at this point in time.
Hey, Kit, don't be so humble lah. You have a very good first grade kois collection and should rightly be proud of your achievement set within such a short period of time, IMHO.
Best Regards,
ThiamHwa

Hi Koimann,

Hope you don't mind me replying coz Kit is too busyShockedLaugh If the bioballs you've added are new it should affect the warter quality coz its till new. It will take weeks for the good bacteria to colonize your bioballs, IMHOWink

Hi koi38,
Yup you are rite about the bacteria growth.I also put in some PSB few days ago when I flushed my bottom drains. That's why I'm going to stop the TT tonite and see if the nitrates level will rise tomorrow. Before today's reading my last recorded reading(2days ago) was 10ppm.Anyway,I only got 5 kois measuring over 50-65cm and 13kois 20-35cm.Have to do more tests. My pond is around 28ton.

Yo Cifu,
The sanke is very active. She is swimming around happily, and when I feed the others, she will come up and glup a few pelletsSly.In the next few days,I will be making "Special" feed for herWink.

Its like live bacteria.I use a Japanese brand but dont remember the name.I called it "longkang water" coz it has a awful smell.I think now brands like Gotto,Aquadene etc also produces PSB.

Here are pictures of my DIY TT/Bakki Shower. The trays are 48" x 18" x 30" for the top tray and 48" x 18" x 33" for the lower tray.Theres a gap of 7" in between the trays. The total height of the TT is 76".Top tray consists of 6300 bioballs. Will be putting 60kg or 70kg(maybe more) BH in the lower tray.Total turn over flowrate is 14000l/phr.

Dont know if it is better than Momotaro, but I think it will work.200kg is recommended for my pond but since I'm using bioballs already,i will try out with 60kg first. My only concern is the flow rate. The Bakki shower have to use fast turn over rates where TT is more effective with a slower turn over rate.I will have to try it out and see.

yoo master cifu..

since BH need fast turn over rate n bioball slower rate.. why not use BH on top (got faster water flow) then below with bioballs (flow rate slowed down by the BH).. just a tot.. might be wrong..Unsure

Re: [koi@kit] MOMOTARO BACTERIA HOUSE [In reply to] Can't Post

Koikit,

Excellent point.... was about to point out the same thing. since BS utilizes fast turn over rate it is best to use the BH on top and since TT utilizes slower turnover rate Bioballs would be proper as the lower media. Your GOOD man!!!! hheheheWink

KOimann....

Love the stainless steel BS/TT you have there. looks impressive.... mind sharing the cost of making it??hehehSmile
