Hi Kit,

Looks good mateCool

Question timeTongue
* What do you have in the drum, BH???
* Did put anything mesh above the inlet outlet pipe???
* Why the inlets facing down, why not have them tilting about 5deg???

This will avoid disturbing the waste that sitting on the bottom.

rgds,
Jon

cifu kemeer..

of course u can incoporate into ur filter... in fact i recommend this type to u rather than make another 'cement' filter... i got the idea from master cifu koi38's DIY Drum Filter.. u can use BH next time in it, n must provide lots of areation..Wink

Hi Kit,

If you using this filter as prefilter your set up is excellentCool. But if you're using this after some filters I suggest to replace the jmatt with some either plastic mesh or stainless steel mesh. The air will push the water up then goes down like a mushroom with tiny waste which will go thru the mesh and settles at the bottom for flashing. The jmatt will trap the waste on the top side and eventually clog it, IMHOSmile

Jon

Yoo Kit,

You can cut it with jig saw of just a normal hand saw. Get the size by measuring from the outside minus the thickness of the drumSmile You can use cardboard for pattern. You can also use the lid of the drumWink

Hi Dafish,

The bottom of the drum is your best betWink Also use larger pipe 2" or 50cm at leastSmile If the drain is on the side you have to tilt the drum to drain side which you don't want to do coz it will disturb the bio media insideShockedTongue

Hi Kit,

So your drain is like vacumn type, it should workCool. If you can have the elbow close the bottom it should suck moreWink
