Hi Kemeer n Koi@kit I believe there is not hard and fast criteria to apply here when it came down to determine sex of koi, it is a combination of the shape of the fish, shape and size of the fins, the Hi, etc. When looked at many fish afters many years, one can more or less get a feeling of the koi is male or female. Some kois are more easy to see and some kois are more not clear. I am sure with your years of experience, you are able to more or less tell, but just you dont say out. There is nothing wrong with male kois, different keepers have different objective in keeping kois, if pond is small, then keep male kois, they are beautiful and cost much less, see too many nice females spoil by small ponds. Back to the growout, if I am choosing, I think 3rd koi (1st picture 2nd row) will grow, too bad I cannot participate as I am from penang. regard abang
