Re: [Koimann] Momotaro Sanke [In reply to] Can't Post

Koimann,
Congratulations. I like this koi. Balanced Hi pattern, tight kiwa, hope the shashi on second patch of Hi will thicken to close up the narrow gap. THe sumi is well positioned and I have no doubt it is very high quality sumi.
This koi will be impressive when the sumi are fully developed. The shiroji has improved. Hi colour is nice unlike the dark red type common in Sankes. I cant tell the quality of the Hi. While it looks even, is it thick?

Finally, I hope your kois will bulk up when you make improvements to your pond. In our weather, I believe the only way is to feed very often like what Dr Teh does.

Do tell us when and where did you purchase this Sanke?

Hwong,
Bought this sanke from Kepong over a year ago.The Hi is good and thick except for the sashi on the second part as you mentioned.Maybe one of the better Hi ones as I find that many of Momotaro kois have uneven Hi.Yup, hope I can grow it to 80cm by next April. My favourite type of Hi are sankes produced by Toshio Sakai.Very good thick and soft type of beni, that stands out with good shiroji.
