New Pond in construction Comments are most appreciated! Can't Post

This is my new pond which is under construction. Dimensions are 23 feet X 10 feet X 5.5 feet. Projected completion time will be another 5 days. Do feel free to comment. Photos will be added as construction progresses. The roof will be constructed later on. Thanks.

Dimensions of the pond are ok, but what about the filter-setup. Mind sharing what you will be using for the filters and how you plan to implement the system..Smile Just curious...

Hi Francis,

It is very difficult for someone to make comments without any sketch drawing of your proposed filtration system.
If you have them, please post it so that everybody will have a better understanding and be able to follow up with comments on it.
Thank you.

Best Regards,
ThiamHwa

Thanks for all the comments, appreciate it. And I want to thank ThiamHwa, who hopefully wouldn't mind me posting a photo of his on to the post. I was sketching out my filter system when it occured to me, it would be easier to post the picture of which I have based my filtration upon. Practically the same, I have four chambers of 4.5 tons. An identical one will be built on the further side of the pond to achieve the required tonnage capacity. Would really like to take this chance to thank ThaimHwa whose advice is so valuable and concise. He has helped me save time and $$ just from his advice. Two heavy duty water purifiers (and perhaps a large holding tank) will also be placed as I want to try to run constant fresh water into the pond. Perhaps of dripping, I want to try flowing it at a whole different level. I will make sure chlorine and contaminant levels are those of a safe level. Thanks again.

Hi Kit,
Bricks were only used for the filter build. The rest are formed using concrete. Wink So many people have warned me about ponds being build using bricks as base and cement over it. Yes, was so thankful that I made the visit to your place at such a right time, if it was not for that, I wouldn't have learnt from you concerning the bottom drain feed. Can't wait to implement Bakki Shower to the pond. Got the virus from you and ThiamHwa haha. Once again, thanks kit for all your advice.

Regards,
Francis

Hi Francis,

You are most welcome, it is a pleasure helping out fellow hobbyists who are into the same hobby.
Based on your descriptions regarding the 2 sets of four chambers filtration chambers located on either end of the pond and running parallel, would that means that you will be using 2 sets of pumps for the 2 identical filter chambers set-up? I think that will add $$$ to your electricity bill with the additional pump.
Just a thought.

Regards,
ThiamHwa
