Re: [koi@kit] OXYGEN CONTENT OF MY POND [In reply to] Can't Post

hey there bro.....

Those kois don't look like the sanke i remembered!! Shocked. Are they new??Wink Well anyways, back to you question, i think the 2 air-rings in your pond should be ok, but then again, adding another couple of rings shouldn't be any harm! They'd probably grow BOOM BOOM faster.LaughLaughLaughLaugh

Hi Kit,

You can put as many air ring if you wantTongue but the question is how big are those air pumps??? Also how about the koi poop, do they still get drawn to the BD's???

Jon

master cifu..

i have no problem with air pump, as 1 air pump feed 1 air ring..

yap 2 BD, 2 air ring at the moment.. extra ring will disturb the current.. any suggestion?Wink

Re: [koi@kit] OXYGEN CONTENT OF MY POND [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Kit,

I thought about adding air stones or air ring in my pond but decided not to due to water current in the pond. The mushroom effect in my pond is so strong, koi poop don't stay at the bottom of the pondCool But IMO if you have 2 BD's you should have to air rings. They will aid the koi poop to your BD's faster. Adding another 1 or 2 might disturb the current and instead of the poop going to BD's, the poop might end up all over the pond which at the end of the day will create water quality issues, IMHOSmile

Maybe others can share a thought or twoAngelic

Jon

Cifu Kit & Mster Koi38,

I believe having 4 straight air-rings installed will solve the problem on current/poop movement. Having them installed there, you will be creating a sort-of Bigger air-ring and the current/poop movemnt will be more concentrated to the centre of the pond where the BD's would be. What do you think? I could be wrong!!SmileSmileSmile

Re: [kemeer] OXYGEN CONTENT OF MY POND [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Kit & Kemeer,

I can only comment on having air line on 4 corners by picturing itWink Bare in mind that the pond is either square or rectangleSmile

You will have 4 water currents coming from each sides. You have either one or 2 BD/s. Just imagine those 4 air line pushing water up and all will meet in the middle of the pond. If one BD only the waste will get drawn away from BD, if 2 BD's it may work but I'm not convincedTongue This is how I picture them.

rgds,
Jon

Hi Kit,

Normally, ppl add extra air stones or lines on dead spot to create water movementSmile

Like I always say, you never know until you tryTongueSmileWink

Hi Kit,

It may trap some eventually, but most of the time it will just push the dirt upSmile

Hi Kit,

If you already have the air tubes might as well try it. I know your temp is warmer but is your pond/koi suffering from lack of O2 or its just YOUTongueLaugh
