Hi! First of all I would like to congratulate Kit and other comittees on the 1st koi show in Brunei! Since this is the 1st koi show in Brunei, hence majority of you may be quite new and green towards koi competition so I'm here to provide you some tips. Hope it helps! Most of all, SAFETY first! For the first 3 or 5 days before the competition, I strictly encourage no feeding to kois. While catching the kois we must be very careful. Prevent kois from swinging its tail on the surface of the pond as we are afraid that it might hurt them. During the competition, place packed koi in the tank so that the kois are able to cope with the temperature of the water. Later on, unseal the bag. As it is very important to make sure that kois are able to cope with the water thus slowly, add a little tank water into the packed koi. After 20 seconds then only you should let the koi out from the bag For safety, individual tank, nets and etc are encoureged. Aft the koi show there are still some safety precautions to do. Qurantine the kois for 2-3 days. Add 0.6% of salt n aerobaju (yellow powder) to prevent any illness(salt) and injuries of kois(aerobaju). Thus if there is no visible red veins or other symptoms then removed the koi from the qurantine tank. Above are the basic knowledge of kois. For furter inquiries or questions, do not hesitate to post me a msg or contact me directly. Will be happy to give you a helping hand. Good luck guys. Hope to see you soon. Best Regards, Vincent Wong.
