WATER IMPROVEMENT.. Can't Post

hi all..

follow koimann and paul's advice... i finally decide to improve my water quality rather than concentrate on koi growth.. beside adding BH. to my system.. now i use izeki's super clean c.. all this while i only uses 20g for my pond, which koimann and paul think is too little, so tonite on the 17th january i uses 60g for my water.. water very cloudy, koi flick a bit due to the dust from super clean c.

will see my water condition tomorrow n update the improve of my water by daily basis.. today's reading..

ammonia = 0
nitrite = 0
nitrate = 50ppm
pH = 7.3
temp = 27'c

those intrested in sharing their water condition here are also welcome..

Dear Kit,

just went to my koi dealer just now....for the temp, they always maintain at around 20'c. according to them, at this temp, the koi can easily maintain their Hi & improve the shiroji. what is ur comment on this?

and also for the oxigen, what is ur reading??Wink

Sifu Kit,

The only thing I know that can reduce nitrate is TT system. Obviously the larger the TT the more media you have. Now if you have a large TT you can have a strong flow of water but it will also need lots of air. This kind of system will work really well by reducing NO3.Smile Sorry sifu, not familiar with "izeki's super clean c". Other ways are to reduce feeding or reduce stockingPirate

Jon

yoo menghun..

i ever read from somewhere in this forum dat koi's hi n shiroji are better at lower temperature. if not mistaken is 25'c or 26'c.. too low koi might lose appetite..

the shiroji improve coz the koi produce something to combat the coldness thus make the koi more white. the hi are also thicker at lower temp.. i cud be wrong.. dont believe me 100%..

for my oxygen, shud be sufficient, never measured thou.. i got two air pump pumping two air ring in the pond plus a mini trikle tower with 1000 bioball n 10kg BH.. will DIY the TT following master cifu koi38's advice.. 'blue drum TT'Wink

yoo master cifu koi38..

will improve my TT system using the 'blue drum'.. i oredi reduce my current stock from 9 to 6 koi.. will need to reduce 2 more.. reduce feeding.. hmmm very hard for me.. i love to feed koiWink

i did post the information abt 'super clean c' before.. here there are.. may be after reading this u can give some comment.

SUPER CLEAN C (Fermentation resolution enzyme)

Super Clean C is for use in concrete ponds and other artificial ponds installed with a filtration system. The aim of the product is to turn organic matter in the water into inorganic matter, and to increse the size of suspended solids(SS) so as to make filtration more effective.

Fermentation resolves an underwater organic matter and it makes flock of dirt large and is easy to filter. If You put 1g of fermentation resolution enzyme in each 1t of water every evening and keep water white-muddy and white skin will become fantastic pure color. To prevent deteriotion of skin of koi in the transportation, dissolve 15-20g of enzyme to bucket of water and put it to the tank slowly. The best PH is 7-8. If DO is higher, the effect will be better.

Hi Kit,

I've read your post regrding that chemical, still never heard it beforeCrazy I told you I don't go out much, maybe I shouldLaugh

I don't like using chemical in my pond. The only thing I use are salt and PP. I don't even have salt in my pond. I beleive having good filtrations will avoid using chemicals in you pond, that's my opinion some else may have different views when it comes to chemicalsSmile

Aiyo Cifu Kit,
Dont get so complicated.Just remember that kois need lots of oxygen.They also like to eat and shitCrazy.So the faster you take all the shit from the water the better.A TT will help reduce your nitrates level.As for temp,in lower temperatures koi tends to have better hi colour and white.In warmer temp,koi have better sumi and they are more active.

I also want to hear other's comments lah.Good for everybody to share their experiences.I have used Super Clean C before, but didnt notice any difference.I think, I still have 3 or 4 packetsSly.I prefered to use Refresh(Montronollite Clay).Its good for the luster of the koi's skin and also makes them active and have good appetite.Sometimes I put a little into the paste feed.

yoo all..

after 6 days of using the 'super clean c'.. kaboom... my water very 'crystal clear'... even at heavy feeding.. during the 6 day i sweep the 1st chamber twice, clear 2 bottom drain twice a day.. here's my reading..
ammonia - 0
nitrite - 0
nitrate - 2ppm
pH - 7.5

i start notoce the improvement of my water in the 4th day.. but didnt read the water parameters.. i guess all the 'dust' clamp by the 'super clean c' take a few days for my filter to do its job..

even the algae on he pond wall n bottom are light green now.. as good as koimann's carpet grass..Wink

Hi Kit,

Just curious why the algae on the pond was brownish in color in the first place, something could have cost itCrazy

Anyway, I'm glad that "super clean c" is started working for you with good resultsCool

How often would you use this product???

Jon

Re: [Koi38] WATER IMPROVEMENT.. [In reply to] Can't Post

yoo master cifu koi38..

i think the brown algae on the wall is cause by high nitrate or even waste or dust.. as SCC clamp all inorganic making it easy for filter to do their job, n SCC also dissolve ammonia( no ammonia, no nitrite, thus no nitrate, sounds logic?)

i m gonna use SCC every week, but will reduce the dosage if the water condition is still ok.. dat day i used 60g for my 20ton water.. for maintenant i will only use 20g..

i also will use 'onitaiji' or 'refresh' powder for my pond once a week to ensure the water is 'fresh'..
