HI Lisa,
Welcome to Brunei forum...Hope you are enjoying your koi hobby.
To answer your Q, there is no right and wrong answer and it all depends on what grade of koi you are looking at. I have not seen any comparable grade of Taiwan koi to Japanese Koi. It is not very common to see Taiwan Koi in the market. Those Taiwan koi that I have seen before has pecuilar colour which you dont normally see in a normal koi. Green, purple, glossy black and white, high back and short body koi is what I was told Taiwan koi. How true is that, I am not sure. Japanese koi has a more natural colour of what you normally see in a published book or magazine. The skin quallity is much higher, orangey is more rich and better white. Body is longish and to what I notice the barbels are always longer. Why not you post some photo of your koi here and maybe we can discuss.

Regarding your green water question, the easy way is to built a shade to cover it from sun light.

Hi Lisa2008,
I didnt say you are from Brunei. I welcome you to Brunei forum.Wink

Below is how you need to attach any pictures in the post. Bear in mind you need to reduce the picture size here (500kb max) as it wont take a lot of bytes.

1. Click reply
2. Below the writing box, there is a "browse", click on it.
3. You then select the file you need to upload and click on it.
4. Check the box on "inline"
5. Click "upload attachment" - the file you selected will then be displayed in one line
6. Click anywhere in the writing box where you would like to load the picture
7. At the toolbar menu, the 2nd last icon is a mountain picture, click on it and your pictures will then come out.

Hope it helps
You have fun! Laugh

Hi Lisa,
I have a small upstand concrete pond. It is about 3.3tons (including filter). There were 7 kois in it. Smallest 57cm, biggest 71cm. I reduced it to 5koi 2 weeks ago to give more room. I have 2 other fibres 4x8, one with 5 kois (45cm to 63cm) and one with 7 koi (40cm to 57cm). Malu lah to show them as they are not the top grade for people. Laugh
