Hi Kit,

It was a pleasure having you and Pual at our home, and thanks helping with the advice on the filteration. I was no wrong when I mentioned that my filter is good for Gupe.
I was by kuck that I get clear water.
I added the clay to my pond to bring down the ammonia level. It was very cloudy when i poured the solution into the pond and by now it is already clearing up.
I will test the ammonia by tomorrow morning and post the reading to you.
The 10m width liner should arrive in two weeks' time.
One of the fish was caught in the air ring just now and managed to release it from the air ring.
Do you think the exsisting depth of my pond is suuficient for the fishes to grow?
I will prepare the 1 ton filteration tank for you.

Re: [Robert Lee] water condition [In reply to] Can't Post

hi robert..

hopefully the clay will bring down ur ammonia..

seems like u r very excited abt ur new liner.. heheheh cant wait to make a new pond oredi? hehehehehheh
keep ur existing pond.. very good and beautiful pond...

there are 2 type of koi keeper..
1.serious koi keeper.. they keep high quality koi, their pond is so so only, some will have very deep n big pond with crystal clear water.. some like to keep their koi in muddy, green water..(koi like green muddy water in nature).. in japan, koi are keep in mud pond to make their koi BIG.. natural enviroment..

2.serious koi pond keeper..they keep so so koi but their pond are sooooo beautiful.. pond dont have to be deep, but water must be crystal clear, more like for pond show or just a part of garden set up...

hehehehehhe i think i talked too much.. Sly

remember crystal clear water doesnt mean good water.. as u may experience, clear water with water parameter problem is not a good sign. muddy water with good water parameter is more important.. hehehehehehheh....

anyway i dont see any problem with ur koi, so i presume ur ammonia level and high pH is still ok for ur koi to live in..

regards
kit

Dear Jarvis,

What I did was I way the bricks and put pond liner and the bricks are actually the pond wall.
The only disadvantage is the depth is dependence on the liner width and I reckon the maximum depth is about 30'' however I found out that there are liners with 8 meters width and you can bult a pond of 2 meter depth and 2 meter width and maximum of 20 meter lenght.
The exsisting liner I used is 6m width and 7 meters in lenght.

Dear Jarvis,

Those bricks are not cemented they arranged with inlocking pattern.
You can change shape anytime you want to.

Dear Jarvis,

Its all up to you and frankly when I built this pond it cost me less than 1,000.00 brunei dollars.
Last two evening I help a friend to built one and the materials used are:-
1. 1,200 pieces of bricks
2. 6 m of liners
3. 3 submersible pumps
4. 1 UV sterizer
5. To night we will put up the filteration tank ( on loan from another friend )

Work time 7 hours and you have a pond
I will take a picture and send it to you.
