hi GCSpyder
it wasn't for shopping extravaganza, bro Blush
i had to meet a few people in Singapore for work, so did Maris so 2 of us plus Rendy decided to take a look around at the same time.
It was fun to look around and enjoy a different atmosphere.
we met chewed (Derrick) at Zion and saw his 2 nisai kohakus. very nice.

Paul, actually there were plenty of choices at Max's place. He has a very very large establishment, and many ponds full of koi that we didn't explore cause our time was limited by the rain. our trip to the koi dealers was made for "just looking" exercise. it's a bit of a bother to bring koi back from overseas (too many regulations) so we didn't really try to look for koi to buy. It's always better to buy locally cause you don't have to go through all that procedure to bring back koi. even if the fish cost half the price overseas compared to local, in the end you pay the same if not more, and that is IF you are able to get the koi out of customs, which is never guaranteed - you have to have papers.

anyway, it was a fun trip but it's nothing major. to actually buy our koi, we will still look first at local dealers. it's the most convenient, cheapest, and safest way to obtain new koi.

Hi all

I'm at Bangkok right now & I managed to squeeze sometime to visit a koi dealer here. Didn't go to the famous Thai Nippon FF though as it's too far. I'm quite surprised by the standards here, it's pretty good. Pricing wise,is slightly cheaper than Singapore. Saw some nice Hoshikin 60+ cm kohaku. Of course i'm there just to see the kois as the hassle to bring back is too much. Cheers!
