Hi guys, Here is a small report of the third pond visit. I arrived at rendy's house around 10 a.m. although the appointment was at 11 a.m. I am sorry rendy I can't help it as I am so excited to see your pond and kois. When I arrived I was greeted by two huge labrador dogs (Rama and Rexy). Nice dogs. I am quite afraid but the vet that came earlier told me that they are tame. Phew.. indeed they are tame, they sniff at me and even lick my trousers. Then rendy came out and we introduced ourselves. Later I met with his father and fiance. They are very nice people. Rendy told me that he got this koi keeping hobby from his fiance as she keep ranchu as her hobby. When rendy start to keep ranchu he met with joy, who has a ranchu shop, and then joy showed rendy his 90 cm soragoi which make him involved in this koi keeping hobby. Wow!! God work in a mysterious way; otherwise, we would not meet rendy, such a good young man. He has a huge pond with 9 chambers filtration systems and a DIY bakki shower. The DIY bakki shower is consists of first step as inflow with plant in it, second step fill with bacteria house and third step fill with bio balls. Over all the water is crystal clear and the kois look very happy swimming inside the pond. Later rendy showed me inside his house. He has a huge swimming pool and a sauna pool beside it. You know what, rendy told me he would like to change his sauna pool into koi pond, of course I agreed with him since he is talking to a koi kichi. Even better the swimming pool itself rendy. Then I met rendy's other pets, such as the tortoise, and the assorted gold fish (ranchu, lion head, kaliko, etc). He even show me some baby ranchu that was bred by him. Who knows in the future he will breed kois also. Way to go rendy, you already have the potential oyagoi. Harris came around 11 a.m with a sad face as his kois are not doing well as the amonia and nitrite level are quite high this morning. Not to worry, guys he already had some water change before he came to see us. Benny came around 11.15 a.m. Currently he has no koi but is planning to build his pond later. I think he is a lucky guy as he could learn from our mistakes and build a perfect pond. (eh corrected a near perfect pond ) After all are gathered rendy is very kind to bowl his favourite kois and put it in the measuring tub. As you can see from the photos they are excellent specimen, aren't they? His selection of kois is excellent. Some to mention the benihanako kohaku, the champion showa, the three steps kohaku, and others that are not capture in the camera. You should see it to believe it. After that we went to rendy's living room and have some drink. The discussion of koi world went hot and as usual we recommend rendy several hot spot for the future koi ponds. Indeed he still can have three koi ponds. . Then rendy ask us to join him for lunch, and when I look at the watch it was already 2 p.m. my... my.. the koi world has made us forget about the lunch time. Unfortunately, harris cannot accompany us as he get some business to attend. Before going for lunch, we manage to take a look at his house even further and I found the koikichi 2 books near the tortoise cage. Rendy is so nice to lend me the books. thanks rendy Then, we went to the same restaurant as joy and the gang has come before. I like the food a lot, I think benny and rendy also like it very much. No complain at all plus it was a compliment from our host. Again thanks a lot rendy. After about an hour talking about the koi world, my home minister already call me in the cell phone as I promise to bring her lunch. We decided to call the day off. When I left benny is still talking to rendy, maybe he would like to add some to this report. Rendy, my home minister thank you for the good food also. I really enjoy this pond visit, rendy is a very good host, thanks for a good time rendy. I can't wait for the next pond visit. Who would volunteer? Joy how about you? I would like to see your famous soragoi. cheers
