Veggie Filter Can't Post

Hey,

I am interested in tryin out veggie filtration as an added filter media as it supposedly assist in removin ammonia, nitrate, and absorb phosphate and iron. I plan to put the veggie near my waterfall (which my fish can't get to), so there should be a semi medium to strong current I suppose. I have attached two foto, can anyone help me identify the name of the plant.

Also, can anyone share with me the hassle of veggie filtration, will these veggie carry bacteria or disease that might harm the fish? Do I need to provide media for these plants (soil, etc), or just simply stick them so they don't float around?

Thankx a lot.

I think the first one is what we called with "eceng gondok" and the second which put on the bakki shower is somekind of grass type plant. I think what you should consider is that the leaves will get wither up and this could be another problem as they will decompose too. Beside that, beware of problems that usually come from the plantation. However it would be nice to see the greeny on the pond.

I think actually there are a lot of people or members of this forum seeing the thread which could be seen on 'view' column. Maybe cause the elder member have been in another hobby or nothing has attract to them anymore since they know how to keep their kois and now they enjoy it and then forgot this forum Tongue
