Friend of mine living in Kelapa Gading lost the whole kois in the pond, there are about 30 high quaility kois some of them holding a certificate, as you already aware the kelapa gading was badly effected by the flood its look like a great basin there.

As real koi-lover, He never give up and start hunting new koi already .. he he

Myself almost lost about 80 kois, if the flood is higher by another 15 cm my kois will be gone. I ve tried to move some of the best collection to aquarium, but It was over crowded and somemore there is no electricity. Really one of the worst nite for meUnsure. I m still fortunate that I didnt lose anything, and now they are happy kois again in my pond.Smile

Hi Viper,

Lucky you. Fortunately my house is higher than the street otherwise my kois also will flow away. I was thinking of making net to cover up the pond so no kois could runaway Tongue

But I'm thinking again, it might be funny to see precious kois swim freely in the flood...a very big big pond, even larger than a mud pond Angelic

cheers,

My heart goes out to all the flood victims in JKT nad hope they will recover fast. Both my brother and sister in-law's house in Kelapa GAding were flooded. I was told waters were around 3 feet deep. There was no electricty. They were making do with SuperMi. They cud only communicate via Mobile phone ; then only until the battery went flat. My wife was very anxious throughout. It seems the rain has come again

I am quite sure if the kois were not washed out, it wud have been a struggle keeping them alive with no aeration. for those kois that escaped, I wonder how long they will survive in dirty water.Crazy

Hi guys,

Like yourself, I have friends whose houses are still submerged but hopefully things will be better soon. As stated by Hwong, our hearts are with you. Looks like a good net that can cover the pond might be a good consideration.

Do keep us updated on the weather condition there.

Cheers..

Thanks for your empathy, definately we are lucky here that still can post to this forum, it means that we still have electricity and internet access, there are more than 200,000 unlucky people out there without electricity, food, clothes that need helps

Its seems that the rains come again, according to the weather forecast the peak of the rainy seasons will be mid of february which is next week.

beside net, its also a good idea to have plastic bags & oxygen, one of koi shop in kelapa gading kept his kois in the plastic bag because you never know if the flood water is poisonous, you can leave the plastic bags in a room or you can tied in and leave it floating or you can bring it on the 2nd storey and also don't foget to buy a generator set just in case PLN turn off electricity
