Hey Mike, congratualtions!

Did you attend that show?! Is this the same koi show as the one at the Maritime Museum (Feneno Kagakukan), I dropped by for a couple of hours after lunch Sunday April9...

I understood which ones were the vats that had the kois with awards. But aside from those, why did they segregate another set of vats from the main show area- there were about 20vats on a corner that people were giving more attention to?

Thanks Anthony

Mikee Romero should get full credit on this since he’s the one who made the final decision
on acquiring that Sakai sanke. Me and Kenji Tani just gave full support.
May I also add that it is extremely difficult to win high awards in this koi show
even if one has the resources to acquire the candidate koi.

This koi show is one of the 3 most prestigious koi shows in Japan and
I believe that the glory in winning this koi event should go not only
to Mikee but to the Philippines as well.

Kenji called me up as soon as the koi judges made Mikee’s sanke
KOKUGYU and OVERALL BEST SANKE that day.
If only I was in Manila I would fly over right away to Japan for the awarding ceremony
but I was in California that time, too bad Mikee was also in the U.S.

Yes that’s the same koi show held at the Maritime Museum.

I was there last year at the 23rd All Japan Combined Young Nishikigoi Show
at the same venue, and if the set up is the same, (which I think it was) then…………

The vats with banners and flags over them are the winner’s section.

Since the show was mounted English style,
some of the winner kois must be in their own exclusive vats,
and you could only recognize these by the award banners clipped
with their entry forms above the vats.

Sometimes the Shinkokai puts up show tanks with Dream kois inside-
These are either ex koi show winners or tategois for sale,
either donated to or commissioned by the shinkokai to sell.

Thank you for asking Anthony

Mike
