Cheap food for Koi (Whats the real deal behind it?) Can't Post

What food do you feed your Koi? How much per Kilo?

Has anyone tried feeding with the ff:

1. Tilapia Grower Feeds (High Protein) @ P 25/kilo
2. Dog Food Pellets (High protein for Puppy) @ 1,400/sack

Do those branded quality feed (Hikari, Sera etc) really have a big effect on Koi growth or are cheaper substitutes just as effective?

I know most literature suggests you feed high quality (expensive) food but I'm looking for others who have had experience with the feed mentioned above (tilapia grower, HP puppy pellets)

Thanks!

Dog food rarely exceed 32% protein.

Tilapia pellets are suppose to be higher in protein content, but you can never tell with locally manufactured feeds if they are accurate.

there is a brand called tateh for koi, comes in 2 sizes and suppose to exceed 40% protein. its available at farm bred feeds quezon ave. 630 a sack

I prefer feeds that are fish protein based, rather than vegetable protein. am currently using 45%protein imported feeds at 2k peso per 15 kg sack.

never used the expensive koi food, so can't comment on that

backyard breeders here used sinker cost at 25/kilo don't know what is made of the problem is the waste will disolve with the water makes the water quality very bad
