hi micvince thanks. i saw that article already. just a clarification, cause im familiar with other filters na the outlet of water is at the bottom. in that article the water goes up and the outlet is almost at the top of the barrel. did i get it right? then how much gravel should i put? and how jap mat? aside from gravel what would you recommend? thanks.

Ganyan din ung una kong pond, walang filter. Then when I was learning the koi keeping here in the forum, I have started to have a DIY one. I started to use 1 barrel pump fed filter. Then after few years..I renovated the pond to have a 4 chamber filter system. Its a constant learning process in koi keeping. That makes the hobby more enjoyable.

Start with a simpler one muna. By the way when my pond is green I try to add salt and in few days, wala na ung green color. But be careful, coz salt will lessen the oxgyen in your pond so be sure na 24x7 open ang pump mo or else your kois will die :D
