Greetings from the U.S. Can't Post

Hi All, I was introduced to this board from Tom (Kois and Ponds) when visiting Japan for the AJPS. I am also a Filipino Dealer in the States, who, like all of you are Koikichi. Maybe one of these days I'll visit the Islands with the family and tour some of the ponds. It would be interesting to see how everything is done in the Philippines.

Re: [1koinut] Greetings from the U.S. [In reply to] Can't Post

yeah! you will have a problem at the costums here since there is still a koi ban in the philippines.

I think there is a partial ban with very strict regulations. so its better to buy here na lang
form dealers in the philippines imported from japan.

what is benching?

When there's a koi show, there's a benching committee. They're pretty much the behind the scenes people who track all of the koi entering the show, ie. checking for any ulcers (where in the case that there are any ulcers it will be disqualified from competition), measuring, taking the pictures for the judges for comparing, putting the koi in their respective vats, and tubbing the koi for further inspection for the judges.
