Hi Hindley,
I have dug and turned my house inside out to see if I had old pictures of my koi. Remember I said I raised a koi in a 55 gallon tank that grew to be 24 inches in 14 years. I was able to find only two pictures, sorry. The first one is taken at two years after purchase. You see three koi in there but the one on the left did not make it.
The other picture, the two koi are right next to each other so you only see the front one. Pictured is a good friend and my wife.
Lastly, the 14 year old koi is the one behind the second picture. But you can see him in the first picture.
Honestly, he lived 14 years before a heron attack. Just using a hanging filter and not even an undergravel filter, just gravel at the bottom.
And at 14 years, he was almost 3/4 of the length of the aquarium.

I guess the red cap did not also make it huh? How often do you feed them and When do you make water changes? How many years did it take to reach 2feet? Too bad it was attacked by herons, you must be very mad at them herons.
