What's new in koi hobby? Can't Post

hi guys, tagal ko ring nawala ah. musta na mga kois nyu. By the way, the last time I bought my kois were 3 months na yta. I bought them from Bulacan. I forgot to know the name of the koi farm, pero mura lang dun. Sir Mike Hernandez, pwede bang bumili sa mud pond mo (pang wholesale)Smile. After treating my pond (because of being infested by argulus), sa wakas they are going strong na ngayun. I am planning to buy more kohakus (ewan ko ba, bsta may drive kasi sken ang kohakus eh). Mike meron bang stock sa kois and ponds cartimar branch?

Anyways, wla na yta si mikoi dito ah. Nagabroad na, pareng mikoi pasalubong ha... sayang di ko nabili mga platinum mo, sana magpalaki ka ulit then offer mo sken Smile. Good Luck to all.

Sana magkaroon ng time na magkitakita ang mga koi hobbyists dito sa Manila and other parts of the Philippines.

Thanks,
"I love my kohakus"

Mike, don't you have any plans to setup a website pra sa mga kois mo. This will help you market your kois, yun nga lang I believe that mas maganda pa rin kung personal ang pagpili sa mga koi kesa binibili sa ebay. But moreover, the website might also be one of a way pra makapag-unite tayung mga koi hobbyists dito sa Pinas. Malay mo may mga web developers here are also capable to help us diba..

wla lang suggestions ko lang yun ehehhe...I will go on saturday to Kois and Ponds cartimar to buy some stuff. Hope to see some kohakus with good pattern and nice shirojiTongue.

tnx pal

thanks for your suggestion bogart
you'll be the first to know when our website is finally uploaded.

I believe that mas maganda pa rin kung personal ang pagpili sa mga koi kesa binibili sa ebay.
you're right
i'm also a strong advocate of choosing koi
that you could actually see right in front of you
and not in the pictures or screen.
Although i could understand the popularity of acquiring kois
by way of looking at photographs or the internet because
it saves a koilektor a lot of time (but not necessarily resources).

Try this exercise :
put a picture of a kohaku or sanke on your screen,
adjust the brightness of your monitor from brightest to dimmest.
you would notice that the dimmer the screen becomes, the more intense the hi appears.

or try this:

download 5 pictures of 5 different gosankes taken by the same camera and the same blue vat,
notice that the shade of the background (blue vat) varies in intensity and texture
although they are one and the same blue vat,
if this occurs to the blue background then it follows that
the texture and color of the kois is not actually given a true translation as well.

But moreover, the website might also be one of a way pra makapag-unite tayung mga koi hobbyists dito sa Pinas. Malay mo may mga web developers here are also capable to help us diba..
yah sounds good

wla lang suggestions ko lang yun ehehhe...I will go on saturday to Kois and Ponds cartimar to buy some stuff. Hope to see some kohakus with good pattern and nice shiroji
thanks again, bogart
yah i'll see you in kOis & pOnds

sir kay dream koi ka bumili...... Koi's and pond's near the quezon memorial circle.
tried and tested, you won't see the difference now but in a few months or maybe a year the fish from koi's and ponds will outgrow the others..

Hi all,

I'm Kenneth from QC

Just got addicted to koi's a month ago inadvertently because of my wife Wink I've finally setup my skippy's filter on my 300 gallon pond and things are looking good.

I bought 2 koi's from Koi Village just last weekend. Got a nice Tancho and Kohaku that I've always wanted. 2k each, not bad I think. In my opinion Koi Village is a better buy. Their prices range from P500 to a heart stopping P250,000 Sly But they have a lot more variety

Hi Joms

Wow ok bakuran niyo ah, imbis na canal fish, mga koi ang nakatira dun! Sosyal!
Pahingi naman din o! Wink

Seriously, that looks like a really nice Koi. I'm no expert, but I've been to quite a few petshops, and a few who sell class A++ and I think you don't usually find that kind just anywhere, thus I think its rare and a good acquisition. Laugh

As for my Tancho, he (or she, like I would know the difference Sly) is the regular kind I think, all white with one red spot on his head, though not perfectly circular. He's still very very young though, only about 7 inches long. Maliit pa talaga. Will post some pics soon. I understand Koi's patterns change as they grow, I hope my Tancho won't transform into a Kohaku. Anyone know if they go through drastic changes like that?

I saw another Tancho in the P2,000 tanks at Koi Village, you might just get lucky dude.

Anybody found any reasonably priced Showas? The ones with really nice solid black patterns? Parang wala akong makita sa aking pag lilibot...

hi kenneth,

kala ko dalag ung nahuli ko..hinde pla ehehee..you can check my place here in taguig..manlimas tayu ng chagoi saka ochiba (sana may showa rin Wink). As you can see, my ochiba has brow spots. Today (after feeding tomigai spirulina in a month) i've noticed that the brown spots develop as golden brown..I will post some pic if I caught that koi (hirap kasi makita..my pond is not as clear). Malapit lang sken yang koi village and Im surely will buy one tancho (nakabudget na sa sweldo ehehehe)..pero baka makahanap din ako dito sa bakuran namen..who knows hehehe...

Im turning to a kohaku boy...baka may mga koi hobbyists dyan who can share their thoughts in maintainingt the Hi and the redness of the body...my Dad wants a sanke/showa..any advice guys?

Thanks,

Joms
