yup Manalili downtown you can get everything in wholesale there on the phone hmmm nobody like to give prices on phones in might be a competitor.

Would anyone know how much to expect per piece? I inquired sa Riverfront Aquarium.. theyre selling it for P 8.00 per pc... I'm sure mu go down pa na' if wholesale.

Still that price is pretty steep compared to the prices in other countries. (e.g. less than 2 pesos per pc in Malaysia)

I dont know where riverfront gets its stocks but in aquapets they get it by bulk in Manila, I don't know if there is a manufacturer of bioballs here. As my info says its from China imported in Manila then down to Cebu what you expect on the price all the freights costs.

HI Vipvip.

You are right. The price of bio balls here in the philippines is very expensive.
it is very discouraging to the hobbyist using it.
the cheapest I have found in metro manila a few years ago was selling for
7 to 7.50 pesos each. that is very expensive.

I tried Ebay before. A seller from the USA was selling bio balls and I found a very good deal.
10,000 pieces for 200 USD...but of course you have to ship it via freight thru LBC which costs
115 USD so the tolat cost is 315 USD,,but even with the shipping MURA pa rin to buy elsewhere.


have you tried for alternative such as lava rocks? they are dirt cheap.

Hi Mikoi,

I havent thought about using alternative media for the trickle tower. A few days ago, I've setup japanese mats with lots of aeration.

I still need to let the bio filter mature though before the nitrite and nitrate levels decrease.

Anyway my nitrite levels went from 0.4 a few days ago to 0.1 now... nitrates still the same at 10ppm though

yeah, I've done that before as well.. those orange ribbed electrical hoses are pretty hard to cut. My hands were already aching and I wasnt able to make that much.
