my pond design, I need your comments Can't Post

Hi to all experienced and newbies to this hobbySly. I'm posting my design with a few specs on what I envisioned my pond to be when I actually start and finish building it. I'm looking for comments (good or bad) and suggestions on how I can improve the design, on why you think it won't work, Comments on the sizes of my pipes, size of vortex, bottom drain, size of filtration chambers, very important will be the pump (gallons per hour), etc.

For now I have a couple of 100 gallon ponds that I also built with a friend of mine helping me with the filtration and really felt that this was simply too small to keep healthy kois. I would classify my knowledge in building ponds and raising kois as a beginner or as close to zero as it can get since I started getting into kois and pond building early last month. I feel that the experienced of the members aside from those participating in this forum will help me avoid making major mistakes aside from my being able to save money.

Any help and suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

u should consider using a ball valve for EACH chamber. a 2" ball valve/ pipe has very little flow

Hi Mike!

I thought about using a ball valve in each chamber but found it to be to expensive. So what I plan to do was use 1 ball valve 3" for the vortex to discharge the waste and use one 2" ball valve for all the filtration chambers going to the left being supplied by Vortex A&B and also one 2" ball valve for all chambers going to the right. The only reason why I would do it this way is to be able to save money. More or less a 2" Ball valve cost around P550.00 each.

The reason why I'm using a 3" ball valve for the waste discharge for the vortex is because its hard to find a ball valve bigger than 3" aside from it being expensive. I got my 3" ball valve for P1,650.00 each.

Guys if you have a cheaper supplier please let me know.

Thanks,
Mon

i got my 4" pvc ball valve for php 1650 about early this year, i know someone who knows someone ... etc etc etc that sells these ballvalves.

u might save some money by scrimping on the 2" ball valves (which by the way should cost only 500php) but a 2" flow for all the chambers might not work (thats just my theory)

Mike would this contact of yours be interseted in selling more ball valves? I'm not sure if your contact is in this business but I would be more than happy to buy my piping requirements from him.
