Hi guys,

The list of participants from the previous thread are displayed here. Please let me know if you are pulling out of the event.

The event has been fixed to be 2 weeks from now on

Date : 09th March 2008
Day : Sunday
Time : 3pm

Cost is $500 per koi + $150 for 6 months pond rental.

Hi guys,

The document is updated on attachment for your information.

The agenda for the day is as follows;

3.00pm Registration of details and explanation of proceedings
3.30pm Drawing of order
3.40pm - 4.30pm Selection
4.30pm Premium sake appreciation (courtesy of Tjo :-))
5.00pm onwards : mindless buying of Tategoi after intoxication! haha..

Points to note
- Pay for your purchase on the day. Cheques or cash acceptable only.
- If you are unable to make it, please give your preference order to Tjo by email or sent someone else. If not, get one of us to help. Tjo's detail is in the document
- Please do your own homework and make sure that you have your own preference listed in order (better to make a list of 20). On the selection, you can call the number or point to the koi (separated in groups of 10) and your selection will be updated on a central chart and the koi removed to another holding area.

In any case, the wrong proceedings should be quite easy. Let's take it easy and we will explain the proceedings again on the actual day.

Hi guys,

here's the pix. 51 to choose from because Tjo decided to insert a mystery koi in there. Have fun!

btw, the kois are taken with consistent exposure, no image manipulation with the exception of rotation, cropping and minor sharpening. No colour enhancement applied.

Hi Kemeer,

Thanx for being the first to response! Actually, there are some interesting kois in the midst of all them. I just need to find them myself. haha.. Yes, the mystery koi is one that Tjo pulled from his own previous selection and bears quite a few times more in terms of price point. I don't know about you, but I will be happy enough with Larry previous cheap koi. Shocked

Hi GC,

Thanks for the Pictures, a lot of work and time sacrificed by you to take the pictures and have them posted. I think should have good chance to get a good koi at a cheap price with this group of fish. Anyway, it will be another fun and good learning experience. Smile

Wha.... SIOW LIOW....

So many pattern to chose from.

Sorry guys for only helping out half way... Visa expired...

From the look of it.... lots more pattern option compared to the last GO...

My problem is to make sure I dont get yet another male... Angelic

But going by my luck and male streak... Pirate

GC.... great shots... just one observation.... I see more shadows of orange on the photos as compared to when I saw them "live" at the farm.
Has it got something to do with the flash?

Regardless.... from the last lesson learnt....
First to chose.... Last to chose.... all have equal chance to get a grand champion Smile

PS: is there going to be an official mascot "slut" amongst the 51? Sly

Hi GC,

Great pictures! FYI, I've made a posting announcing this event in our KOI's forum website (KOI's = Koi Owners of Indonesia Society) to let our Indonesian friends know about this exciting event.

Unfortunately for me, I already have 4 kohakus swimming in my pond so I will have to skip this event. Like I said before, I'd like the idea of a Sanke GO better. Perhaps another Momotaro? Angelic

Hi Scott,

You are right, we are not getting younger. Even standing there taking pictures can be back breaking for that one hour odd of labour. Shocked

. Glad to have some helpers came by that day. It sure was good fun catching up with friends again.

Hi APLBW,

Indeed, it was good to see you again.. even for that first half. I think you have a better chance of not getting male by not touching them! just like me. haha...

I was alot more careful this time round taking custom white balance reading of the surroundings to make sure we get as much representation of the actual colour as possible. I believe the set of pix are quite represntative. Regardless, I have kept the shooting conditions constant, which means that any colour difference between kois will be relative to each other and not due to inconsistent shooting settings. Hope this helps.

I will choose a few this time round.

I was looking around for a slut but could not find one! haha!!

Really appreciate your help in letting the other koi lovers in Indonesia know!

Anyway, let's see how this one goes before we decide on any other GO. I will be more than happy if someone organise another one though.. Unimpressed

I suggest that on selection day.... we will nominate our resident "slut" and see how she turns out in the end.

Always good to see how our eyes will sometimes prove ourselves wrong.
