World_of_Koi Knowledge Sharing Page Can't Post

Hello all. The response to my website had been very encouraging, hitting almost 500 visitors within a week. The sale is also very good, selling 9 of the 15 koi that I put up for sale. With that, I am motivated to keep this Koi Re-sale centre running for as long as the interest is there. But to keep this centre running, I need to have new koi for sale.

The objective is to allow a place to sell off koi that you want to cull from your pond / tank. Since those koi are pretty good in quality compare to the local koi, those new to this hobby will be able to benefit from it. Koi sells in this web will be much cheaper than purchase from koi dealer, considering the same quality. They are very suitable for home garden pond although they are far from show standard.

I am inviting those that want to sell their koi to make space for new one to advertise in this koi page. Just send me the picture of your koi. I will do the assessment. If I believe that it is good for the beginner, I will put the picture into the web sale page. We can have 2 arrangements. First one is to have the buyer to contact you directly and neg the price with you. For this arrangement, you just need to give me an "AnyBao" for me to offset the monthly fee of the web.

Second one is I will keep your koi in my tank for a while. For this arrangement, I will collect a commission.

Write to me at world_of_koi@yahoo.com or PM me in this forum if you are interested.

Visit www.geocities.com/world_of_koi and advise me to make it better.

Thanks

Re: [wtansk] Koi Re-sale E-Centre [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi all, I had added 2 more koi for sale. They are Ginrin Kohaku and Komonryn. Please visit www.geocities.com/world_of_koi for more detail or call me at 96695889 for viewing.

At the same time, I am inviting hobbyists to sell their 'culled' koi through my web. I am not asking for high commission as what the farm is asking. You just need to send me your koi picture, I post them in the web and advertise for you. Any enquiry and viewing will be referred back to you. You just need to provide me with some token of appreciation after the sale to keep my web going. I am doing this for the fun of this koi hobby. Please call me or message me for more information.

Thanks

Hi all

The e-centre had added 8 new additions to the sale. Out of them, 2 are award winning koi during the 2005 and 2006 Singapore Koi Show. A Sanke that won the 1st in 20BU during the 2005 and 2nd in 35BU during the 2006 Show. Another Platinum that won 1st in the 40BU during the 2006 Show is on sale too. Please visit www.geocities.com/world_of_koi to see the koi.

I had put up advertisement in today paper to advertise this webpage. The visit rate went up a lot this morning. I had also received some enquiry calls. I am very encouraged to make this webpage a success. As such, I hope those hobbyists that are intending to sell their existing koi to post their koi picture in this web and let those wonderful koi find their new owner.

Thanks

Hi all, just received confirmation from the owner of the 2 show winning koi that the price for each koi is $380. The awards will go with the koi. Please visit www.geocities.com/world_of_koi to visit the koi. Highly recommended as both are possible to win again in the December young koi show again.

Re: [wtansk] Koi Re-sale E-Centre [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi, added another 6 general grade koi into the web for sale. Those koi are very good for new hobbyist to start off their koi journey at a very affordable price. You will definitely not able to get them at similar price in the farm. For package purchase, there will be further discount.

There will be more koi added for sale over the next few days. Several of the season hobbyists had already indicated their interest to sell their 'culled' koi for sale. With their experience, I am very confident that their 'culled' koi are of high quality. Visit back www.geocities.com/world_of_koi occasionally to look out for quality koi at low low price.

Hi wtansk,

I must commend you for the very innovative way to provide affordable kois to the different niche koi market in Singapore and perhaps for some of our friends in Malaysia as well.

Careful vetting of kois coupled with affordable/albeit lower prices than that offered by dealers for similar quality kois will go a long way towards generating interests in koi keeping and go a long way in making the hobby affordable to more
people.

"Kudos" to you wtansk!!

Hi Koi Kaki

I had someone from KL who bought two fish from me. He bought over to KL without any issue. The only request he made is double plastic bag with lot of air. Fromt his experience, I don't see a problem bring fish over the boarder unless you are talking about many. I too brought fish from KL without any issue.

You can post in my web on your fish too. Maybe there are some malaysian who are looking for affordable koi. When we talk about koi, there should not be any boarder. This apply for my web. Any boarder... Wink

Let me know if you are interested in buying. Also send me picture if you are interested in selling.

Re: [Jem] Koi Re-sale E-Centre [In reply to] Can't Post

Thanks Jem for the encouragement. I had been in this hobby for 8 year now. Many time when I met new friend, I was hoping he/she was someone interested in Koi. Remembered that there was a time when I was having lunch somewhere near Hans. There are two men sharing table with me. They talked about koi and talked about the filteration and on changing water. They sounded lost. After listening to their conversation and I introduced myself. I told them everything I know. From then, I told myself that Singaporean love to keep pet including koi but there are really not enough information for them to continue on koi keeping (Koi club, this is for you). Many of them start and give up after a while after seeing their purchase died without any reason.

It is really fun to meet someone with the same hobby and talk about koi for the whole day.

So to do my part, I started this web to help hobbyists sell their koi without making money out of it. I hope with this contribution, I can encourage hobbyist to go a step further and get quality koi, while those that are new are not turn off by the price quoted by the dealer.

Re: [wtansk] Koi Re-sale E-Centre [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi all, I had setup this koi re-sale e-centre for a month now. It started quite well and I managed to sell quite a number of my own fish. I was so motivated and want to make this website a well-known site in Singapore. My obective is to find koi a new home. I hope everyone will first visit this site and scan through all the koi and see if any is suitable for them before visiting the farm or koi shop. As mentioned, I am not out to make money but to promote koi hobby.

Unfortunately after three round of advertisement in the local papers, the sale is relatively low although there are many calls and the web visit had increased. There were many calls, some called to enquiry why hobbyists sell their koi as they suspect the koi health and quality, some called to comment on the quality of the koi etc etc.. Yes, I am upset over some of those comments.

Anyway, I am not giving up yet. I had corrected some errors in the website (learned from one of the caller) and also included a description on why hobbyists sell their koi.

I had also added new fish into the website. Thanks to those hobbyists that have confident with this centre.

Please visit www.geocities.com/world_of_koi before you visit the farm or shop. There might be 'culled' koi that are suitable to you and at a price much lower than the farm. There is no such thing as 2nd hand koi...

Thanks

Hi Welson,

It was nice meeting up with you the other day.

Many thanks for showing me the way you managed your tank water ( particularly your BS filter ) which is excellent. I am very impressed with the quality of water in your outdoor tank and seeing how healthy and happy all your kois are.

Great system.

Thanks for the supporting words.

Yes, during the past few days, I had received call and met up with many that are new to koi hobby. In order for them to gather more information to start off the hooby well, I had modified my website such that it not only shows the sale fish, it will also provide valuable information to allow them to have a quick and safe start.

I welcome any article regarding koi that can help those new hobbyists. I will also compile information from the discussion in this forum into an article.

I visited your website www.geocities.com/world of koi today and find that you have been busy
working on your website. There are now news on local and overseas news on Koi Activities and an article
on "DIY Bakki Shower Filter".

I particularly like your article on the Bakki Shower FilterSmile and would be very interested to build one for my
10' x 4.5' x 3.5' guarantine/ multi purpose fgt. Would you be able to lend your expertise to help me build one
for a small fee , of course?Angelic

Re: [Jem] Koi Re-sale E-Centre [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Jem, no problem on helping you to build the DIY bekki shower system. As the drilling of holes on pipe and on the base of containers are the main work needed, I am intending to get the help of foreign workers during their spare time. Since we are doing that, let open this to other hobbyists that are interested to put up a bekki shower system.

Beside Jem, those that are interested to put up a bekki shower system can write to me or contact me directly at my mobile. You can understand the DIY system better in www.geocities.com/world_of_koi Also, to know the advantage of Bekki Shower system, you can do a search in this forum.

Let me know the following
1. How many decks of container you want your bekki shower system to have. Ideally it should be 3, but for small pond, 2 should be sufficient. I will help you on the following
- buy the containers and a 2ft inlet 2" pipe with cap
- drill a big slot at the bottom container
- drill holes on the upper deck
- drill holes on the side to provide more air flow
- drill hole on the inlet pipe to become the spray bar
- Per my knowledge, the container costs $25 to $30 dollars each. The piping should be around $10.
- The cost of the worker will be evenly divided among the number of containers. I would estimate to be around $10 to $15 dollar per container if the number exceed 10.
- You will have to install the system yourself

2. If you want me to help to install the system, I will buy the following
- a 15000litre/hour Tsurumi pump (stated $280 on Max website)
- piping from pump to the spray bar (around $20 to $40 depending on your setup)
- at least 10kg of Bacterial house (stated 10kg for $350 on Max website)
- bio-ball for the rest (remembered it costed me $0.10 each)
- for this portion, I will be doing the installation. I would expect half a day work. I would expect a small token of appreciation for my work on this. Tongue. To further motivate myself, I will earn through price neg. with the various material supplier.

Regards

Koi Re-sale E-Centre [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi all

I am doing another sale promotion tomorrow to 22 Oct 2006 to clear my koi and hobbyist 3 koi. The price is crazy low. If you are interested in koi from the rest of the hobbyists, they are still available. But since they are not particate in this crazy sale, their koi price remaining the same. For any discount, I will have to consult them individually.

After this sale promotion, I will either close down this web page or let it run as a Blog to provide information / news on koi. Thanks for all the interest generated so far.

Now for the Bekki filter system, I will also stop the offer. Since I promised Jem to setup his, I will keep to it especially after he purchased all the materials to build up the BSF. I will ask him to put up a picture when the system is running. That will be my last contribution to the koi hobby.

To those hobbyists that have fish in my tank for sale, please prepare to take them back after 22 Oct 2006. Sorry that I cannot continue to help you to sell.

Thanks
