Re: [Sony] Using Potassium Permanganate with HP [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Sony ,

I like the first koi. Good head and body structure. Can't see whether it has deep body though. Strong tail end . And with very nice pattern , balanced. Don't see the motoguru though maybe will come up later. See whether there are some sumi at the muscles of the pectorals. See a lot of sumi potentials , hopefully some areas of white will dominate. Which farm are they from ?

2nd koi has a very overwhelming red over the mid section. Overall ok . Looks like you did well in your search. Take good care of them.

Regards
Lau

How do you get the CEF-3? Is it an antiboitic? What the complete chemical name for this item?

I thought of keeping stock of this item just in case my other koi falls sick.

See the picture. Sorry that the detail is in Thai.

Thanks Eastside, Kuhaku2 and Lau for your kind comments.

Me too. I prefer the 1st showa than the 2nd one. But want some different variety that the reason I bought it.

I bought them from the Nippon Koi farm in Singapore.

Bought a Sanke too. Hi in the mid body is not that good. Sumi not strong at the moment. Bought it because I have aka sanke but not a common Sanke.

What your comment about it?

Your sanke has a good body shape. My selection criteria of sanke is:

First, look around the whole fish body. If everything is ok, then pass. I mean it is not deformed.

Second is body shape and skin quality. Your sanke is good one for the Tosai (for my style). It has chance to grow up to good body shape. Skin must have shine skin.

Third, pattern. The Hi (red) should be matched to Kohaku. The sumi (black) is bekko.

Hi Sony ,

You might have a showa rather than a sanke . I do see some potential sumi coming on the head. Also strong sumi markings on the pecs . Anyhow it would be interesting to see how it develops.

Re: [Lauts] Using Potassium Permanganate with HP [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Lauts,

You have an eagle eyes.

I am still very confuse about showa and sanke. What I understand is the face(gill area) if it has any sumi then that a showa and not above the head.

Very slim chance to turn into a showa because an expert and myself had inspected the gill area for potential sumi mark and we found none. I shall be very disappointed if it changes to a showa because I really want a Sanke.

Will keep you update.

Rgds,

Sony

Thanks for the comments and precious tips.

But I am still uncertain when come to body conformation. I see most of the koi have the still body conformation. I have read a number of book about the body and observe from various koi website to learn from the. Still a green horn.Shocked

How do you define good body conformation?

It has heavy sumi on the mid body and not much hi surround it. Hopefully there will be less sumi and more white. I think that would be more idea.

Probably you can try giving other food to have more white.
