Using Potassium Permanganate with HP	Can't Post

The photo shows my pond after using Potassium Permanganate (PP) with Hydrogen Peroxide (HP). PP helps treating fluke including ulcer bacteria. Also, the best thing as by product, is unbelievable clear water. The photo shows after the 3rd time treatment consecutively in every 4 days (total 4 times).

have you heard anythng about koi klay???

Hi Archan Bancherd,

I agree with you. The clarity is by product of using PP+HP. The treatment intentionaly cured the parasite. People said that after the first treatment, Koi owners will use it and delight with the clarity. I am one of them too.

Are your fish suffering for any ulcer? Cause I'm using PP to treat my koi with ulcer but no sign of improvement. Would appreciate if you can teach me your procedure in doing so.

this one quite serious need injection, maybe can try to apply pp (mix with water)high % direct into the ulcer.

bring your fish to any fish farm, the best bring to the place where u buy the fish 'more cheaper'. or bring it to fish doctor. where are u live in?

Just sharing my experience for what its worth. Few months back I had about 10 new kois in quarantine that had serious ulcers. Serious as in almost decayed anal area and body and fin areas. All recovered . With the advice from the Forum Koi Kichi , I applied Povidone Iodine and ' bandaged ' it . Most started healing after 1st treatment . Try in before using antibiotics. Use some anaestatic to make your application work easier. Also the water should be in good quality , ammonia , nitrite etc.

I use ointment for mouth ulcer . Locally called Bonjela. To cover the area after applying iodine , to prolong contact time after fish is released back to water. Can get it in most pharmacies.

Yes that the infected koi. Unfortunately it died yesterday. Frown

Your Bonjela did help the uncler because it wasn't that red. Probably it died of stress because I has to catch it and apply the ointment twice a day Mad

Guess I have to look for new young showa. Wink

Sorry to hear about your koi. Showa are very interesting in that you can see much changes in colour development. Go for body (overall) first then only pattern. Good body conformation will help ensure future growth potential. I'm in Malaysia. Good luck on your fish hunt.

Hi Sony,

Sorry to answer late. I have Ulcer experience, too. I used it to treat the whole pond. The ones, suffering from ulcer with open wound, were brought to hospital tank (500 ltrs). The fish farm came to my house and injected antibiotic whice is Cep-3. He did surgery to the wound by cutting the rotten fresh out. Everyday, we, me and my driver, put antibiotic in with salt. The open wound was treated by Betadine and ointment for mount wound, Kenalog everyday. Suffered koi were in hospital and repeated treatment for 10 days. The injection was done 3 times.

Actually PP+HPO Bombing helps to kill Aeromenus bacteria. Therefore, it is used to clean the whole pond with all koi in. It helps killing bacteria and also parasite which is not destroyed by Dimilin.

Hi Sony,

At present, all Koi are in good condition. All wounds are completely healing leaving mark on the skin. I paid not much only for tip of US$10-15 a time. Actually the CEF-3 in Thailand is around US$2 per bottle.

How do you get the CEF-3? Is it an antiboitic? What the complete chemical name for this item?

I thought of keeping stock of this item just in case my other koi falls sick.
