Des Moines, Iowa calling.... Can't Post

BlushIs there ANYONE who keeps Koi here? I came from England 4 years ago where I kept Koi for 20 years.....can't live without them any longer so as soon as this rain stops I'll be a-digging! I'm worried aout the winters here, I don't want to bring them inside so I'm planning a 4' deep pond, 2' in the ground, 2' above ground.....any comments? I would be really grateful for any advice on pumps and filters....seems to be so complicated over here.

naa, its not complicated at all.

a good filter to get is a nexus. and you must have a Uv sterilzer and lots more. leave it to the big guys to answer more.

Thank you, I'll look up the Nexus. I had a UV light in England and felt it was over rated, is that what you mean by the UV sterilizer?
