Hawk foud my pond Can't Post

I have already posted this somwhere else, but here it is again, Hawk found my pond, he's fishing out my Kois one at a time, what can I do? I thought of a large net, I mean large since my pond is about 2000 sq feet, the quotes I got runs in the viscinity of $2000, any cheaper solutions? And effective of course.Someone talked about hanging CD's around the pond to scare off predators???

The CD idea works for about ten seconds. Netting is a sure bet. Motion activated sprinklers may be slow, if the hawk is diving for the fish. You may also try putting in something for the fish to hide under. Koi caslte or a home made version. 2000 sq feet is a large area to try to predator prof. Good luck. If you have real valuable koi go ahead and net.

Fishing line strung back and forth will keep them out. 1 foot spacing should be plenty. I have mine 2-3' apart and they don't try it...to worried about being entangled. Fishing line 1-2' off the ground around the perimeter works for heron as well (since they land on ground and walk in) it trips them up...they aren't smart enough to step over it.

I had the same problem earlier this spring. Lost several tosai and two pregnant femalesMad. We were able to cover ours (much smaller area than yours) and the hawk moved on. The fishing line ought to work, but you do have a large area to contend with at 2000sqft. If all else fails I'm told buckshot works pretty wellShocked

Bought some netting for birds farmers use it in bluberry fields, 150 feet x 15 wide .80cents a foot, works well, but had to put up posts to hang them, had to swim in pond to be able to hang/tune it properly, work out fine, cobers 95% of my pond, but now I have a heron problem, I have tons of small fish , ahtched during spring time, Heron is there almost everyday, he walks around and fish them out. My 12 caliber shotgun is getting nervous!!!
What do I do????

Don't shoot the bird. They are endangered. Well except for around koi ponds. I use a simple trick. When you see him around get ornary with him. Run directly at him yelling flapping arms and all. The nieghbors night think you are nuts but it works. The more noise you make the better the results. Sneak up on him if you can. Scaring them to death works good too.
I had a heron that got around the whole fishing line and net thing. He would just land a walk right up. The above is what eventually ran him off. Good squirt nozzle on the hose works too.
