Koi wintering indoors

Cheery hello to everyone and thanks for your help re keeping my Koi indoors. Rather than a 40 gallon plastic container - rather than a galvanized feeding/water trough we opted for a delightfully large 100 gallon Rubermaid water Trough from our local Co-Op farm/feed/garden center. I wish all pet stores would refer people to the local farm type store as they have many many different shapes and sizes available. This one even has a drain on the bottom which could be very handy. We hope to get it set up over the next 4-5 days (temp has been very chilly the last two nights). I intend to put a few rocks from the outdoor pond into the trough as well as a few of my marginal plants and then I think they will feel right at home. The fish have slowed down their eating immensely and tonight was the first time in weeks they didn't really come up to my hand to eat in a hurry. Instead they lingered in the middle of the pond.. ate a little and went into hiding. Thanks for all the help. I too have frogs I"m not sure what will happen to them and I know my little pond will freeze to the bottom. It is all rocks - no mud, except the dirt of the flower bed around the back. I suspect they won't make it. Cheers, vdavies.
