I collected several rocks from my pond which had lots of eggs attached. A few days later they all hatched. I had hundreds of little fry's. I put them in a much bigger container with two air pumps. I have been changing about 10 percent of the water twice a week. I am very careful not to catch any fry. So...to my surprise after a few weeks (seven to be exact) I only have one little koi. What could have happened to the rest?Unimpressed

where did you get the rocks, are they koi?

I got the rocks out of my koi pond after my koi had spawned.

No...I still have all of my adult koi. I just took some rocks from the bottom of the pond that had eggs attached to them. I did this right after the adult koi spawned. A few days later the eggs hatched. I had hundreds of fry swimming around. Then they started staying around the bottom of the container. Some would still swim around and come to the top of the container. But, I just can't figure out where they all went. Did they just disappear? It's very puzzling. How could I just end up with one?

Hi,
Did you have a filter installed? Does the container have a cover? Need more info.
