Hello UK! Can't Post

Well, Chris_koi and MrsH seem to have gone on holiday, but if there is anyone in the UK or nearby on this forum, I think we'd all really enjoy seeing each other's ponds and we could see the start of some mutually beneficial relationships.

Im Nick from Nottinghamshire, Robin hood etc :)

Hi all

Pretty grim weather down here in East Sussex too, but at least it a good source of fresh rainwater....

Good idea to have a UK forum. Has anyone else had a really bad summer blanket-weed wise? This has been the worst I can remember and I've no idea why.

3,000 gallons - only 7 Koi (22 - 28 inches) at the moment but hoping to add in the near future.

Hi Folks!

yes I'm from good old blighty too.

I've had a strange summer with my 1500 gallon pond and the 14 fish (mainly Koi but some goldfish too).

Lost quite a few (4) and observed some strange behaviour, see health forum.

Anyway, good to know there's a forum for those of us from blighty:)

BTW I'm from Warminster

Hi Guy's
I'm from the UK too. Blanketweed.... Tell me about it. I've suffered with it for 2 years. When my pond covers came off in May I had 14 foot bwMad Now tho I have NO blanketweed at all Wink Thanks to Interpet 'Pond Balance' It took a month to totally rid it(Hard water). Now I just have green water which my uv and barleystraw extract should kill.

I just wish the weather would make it's mind upCrazy

Don't seem to have the blanket weed problem...I think the rain drowns it. Sly

Cool Hi all

I'm just outside Epsom in Surrey, and have a 20 Ton pond, surrounded by nearly 8 Tons of Limestone paving and glacier boulders. The pond is spanned by a 5.5 Metre Japanes style wooden bridge. All BIO filtration is operated 'in-pond' and results in (currently) crystal clear water with 100% ZERO Nitrite. Blanket weed is a very healthy sign, and is easily removed weekly with a 'split' pole. I'll hopefully get the pics of the recent renovation up here soon Crazy
