a smelly situation Can't Post
I am in the planning stage of my first pond and am getting a vortech filter to treat the water. I intend to site the filter under decking but in the ground, however it has to go next to the seating area. Will there be any smell from the filter assuming it is properly maintained. The last thing I want is guests being put off their food by the smell of 'off water' !!!

I think you will be OK filters only really smell when you clean them out but don't forget filters are great places for Mozzzies to breed so put good lids on or you may get bitten to death.
